  1. Just as a slight necro update, I had the same problem as the OP on an Nvidia GTX295 on Win 7 x64. Deleting the doomconfig.cfg file worked for me. Cheers guys
  2. Thats what I was trying to find out. With 8xAA it runs pretty well, averaging 40fps on the missions I've tried. The rest of the laptop makes up for the slightly under-powered GPU so it ticks along nicely enough.
  3. OK, so I've tried editing the config file manually to no avail. What seems to happen is when I run the launcher for the very first time everything looks fine, nice and sharp etc. When I change any of the graphical settings it seems to turn off the AA. It looks like it sets the resolution lower too. I've also had exactly the same problems on my PC which is also running an ATI card albeit a different model. I'd rather not have to do a reinstall. Any ideas? Edit: OK, I may have sorted this. The settings get turned to their lowest whenever AA is turned to 16x. Its all fine @ 8x. I think my card does not support 16xAA but the game isn't detecting that so when I try to crank it up to 16 it throws a hissy fit. When I change the settings afterwards it has no effect until the Doomconfig.cfg is deleted and restored. Not sure if it is my card or a bug in the AA implementation but that's how I dealt with it.
  4. Hey guys, First of all, Thank you for this most amazing piece of work. I've been a fan of the Thief series since it started all those years ago and I think the work you and all the fans do is fantastic! Now, my problem may not even be the graphics card. I've had a look through the wiki faqs and searched the forums here to no avail. My problem is that AA simply won't work. I turn it on in-game (both in the main menu and during a mission) but it has no effect. Every time I restart the game the setting resumes its stubborn 'off' position. I've tried looking through the config files but couldn't find a setting which was obviously AA. I've tried forcing it on through the driver but again, no effect. I have the Catalyst AI turned off with ATI Tools to stop the spinning sky bug. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers in advance Edit: Just found out that r_multisamples = AA I'll try setting that manually
