  1. I noticed that DarkRadiant doesn't support (at least the version I have) spot lights and such as in the D3 editor. Is there support for this that I'm just not finding?
  2. Zol, a guy I discussed ambient lights with over at D3W, just sent me an ambient lightsource without any falloff on the texture. Turns out it worked exactly like I thought the ambients should...I can make it any size I want and it's still evenly lit. There was only one small and very weird hitch..I had to rename it from nofalloff to ambientLightnfo before it'd work. Before it just cast your average light, it was blocked by geometry and cast shadows, after the renaming it acted like an ambient light. I wanna test this out to see if it's just me, or if D3 depends on naming to determine the type of light along with the globals. I'm gonna upload em both, anyone that wants to try them out is more than welcome...and send me the results when you're done. Zol's Ambient My Ambient Edit: Just figured it out...there was a naming conflict with his. Because he installed it in /base it overwrote the Id made texture, but I installed it in /darkmod so it was being overridden by the original material.
  3. I have this cool little table lamp at home that glows a nice yellowy-orange because of it's thick, marbled and somewhat frosted (opaque'ish) glass. So, I decided to try and create it in Lightwave. It turned out pretty close, though some of the details are off. Regardless, I thought if you guys liked it and wanted it modeled for the game, maybe one of you seasoned veterans here could model it properly. My version is probably some high-poly model train-wreck. Or, maybe it could just be used to spur new/other ideas. Either way, it was fun to make. I should practice more LW. If you're going to properly model it, let me know if you want an actual photo of the lamp. Note: The base is supposed to be made of a metallic gold, not wood. I couldn't make the gold look very good, though, so I just made it of wood for now. Lame. Oh well...
  4. Hurrah! Another fantasy MMORPG! WHat's special about this one - well for a start you can play for free for six months. THey are making the unusual move of releasing a scaled down version of the final game, which will not be out for six months, and the actions poeple take in this game (called Settlers of Ganareth) will be added to the lore and history of the final game. Secondly, the size, it's absolutely massive, the biggest wolrd ever, and there are no loading zones either, plus there is only one world server containing every single player. Third, you don't have to do the old fight-monster grind.. YOu can get XP just for exploring the gigantic world. There are also great thief classes in it. I always like to try new MMORPGs to see if I ever come across a decent one - well it has to happen one day, surely. The fact that this is free for six months gives an even better reason to try it. It'll be released this month some time. http://www.darkandlight.net/
  5. Fancy Lamp 1. I think it's self-explanatory. I'll probably texture up these things I've been making tomorrow or monday.
