I keep getting the same message. "You need to update your Flash Player", but the Flash Player site is telling me I'm up to date. WTF!!! i'm getting very pissed off at this Adobe Flash Player upgrade crap.

 

How many times do i have to F'king install flash player before I can view a video?

 

Is there a way to disable this plugin? Or perhaps use an alternative flash player?

What's your browser? Operating system? Flash player version?

 

Tried completely uninstalling the player, then rebooting, then installing it again?

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

I'm using IE7, WinXP PRo. and Flash Player 9.045.0. But i did what you said and it worked. Actually, I did what this thread said...

-- It seems there are a lot of ppl... I mean LOTS... TONS, having the same issues. With some it's a Windows problem, with others it's a flash problem... with me.. i feel it's a windows problem. Fucking Microsoft better get their heads outta their asses before someone like Linux or Mac hands it to them.

 

It'll never happen tho, they're all too slow in developing better shit).

 

It's a Windows world... and it pisses me off. :angry:

      I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

      briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
      What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
      I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
