  1. I have some red pencils as well, i could give them a shot. I don't mind personally, but you're going to have to ask the development leads if they want to release any of the concepts first.
  2. Here's a large tudor house. I guess this could be a town hall, or a large pub/inn.

  4. you're right. I didn't consider movement by the player through the space too much and was focusing a bit too much on sillhouette and shape. I'll start expanding these buildings a bit.
  5. I moved all the city-environment concepts into a single thread for easier accessibility, they seemed to be a bit scattered throughout the forums.     one of my friends ( i believe her forum name is Irina) is going to submit an app soon, she is a fairly proficient artist, you guys can judge for yourselves when she does so, but just wanted to let you know that we would be able to collaborate on design since we're both local even if the need for concept artists is relatively low atm.

Ok I came up with this, I didn't include the sleeping quarters, but was thinking that it should probably be located to the side of the forge area in another room, because you don't want to have your workers sleeping above boiling metal and steaming furnaces. Let me know of modifications or suggestions.

    If we had a ton of great art posted up, maybe more modellers would be attracted to the project and we could branch off into creating more types of monsters/environments/props.

    Hey everyone, After senior year, I talked to a bunch of friends that became very interested in concept art after looking at some of my 'art' which was essentially thedarkmod design work, and would like to work for the team to get some experience and just have some fun this summer designing video games. I told them about the mod, and many have expressed an interest in working for the team. We're all within driving distance of eachother here in Arizona, and could serve as somewhat of a design hub capable of meeting regularly and collaborating on the concept aspect of the mod. There are about 5 other students who would like to contribute; should I get each to register on the forums and apply separately? Let me know what you think.
  10. what kind of setting are these characters going into? i can draw some up, but i need more details about the environment and people surrounding the statues. will it be the builders, common folk, pagans etc...

  13. That looks awesome springheel, I'd only suggest having the skull look directly on to the player. It looks kind of funny/mocking when its cocked to the side like that. I think it takes away from the seriousness a bit. just my opinion though...
  14. Here is the floor plan with ONLY the walls. I plan on adding rooms to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors and the curved rooftop attic. The windows for the first two floors are indicated. Is this how modelling works? Or do you need the individual rooms put in as well from the start? If so, let me know and i'll lay the rooms in and provide more detailed plans for the remaining floors. Also: IMO I don't think we should have any rooms on the first floor, i'd say it should be the main factory floor where all the production takes place with a bunch of machinery and pipes flying all over the place for our thief character to take advantage of. What would also be cool is a metal mezzanine circling the walls of the first floor with access to vantage points above the machinery so guards/workers can be picked off with ranged weapons.

  16. This is by no means final. This is a quick sketch of a possible first floor plan for one of the mansion missions. I was thinking this should be a two story mansion (1st and second floors) plus a basement, but I think we should agree on a single floor at a time to get the basic shape down so I can begin to build above and below with different rooms/staircases etc. Let me know if i'm missing rooms that should be present on the first floor, or of any suggestions as to the layout of the rooms.
  17. actually that was it... should I disregard that room list? Also: is this mansion for a single mission? If so, is there documentation on the mission specifics? I remember someone wrote up a mission involving a mansion though I can't remember where it was posted.
  18. ah, do you have that list of rooms requried in the mansion? Its hard to make a floorplan without them. I remember seeing a list somewhere (and i'm sure i printed it out), i hope its still on the forums.

  21. you're right, it would probably be better to have too many steampunk elements than not enough. I'll try to think up more features to add to the buildings, i wish I had a mechanical engineering background haha.
  22. I'll go for the tall cathedral look for the builder concepts from now on. also, is there any one faction we're working on right now? It would be easier to narrow down the building types so we don't have all these random concepts coming in.
  23. edited concept to fit the inventors guild descriptions. I thought a curved roof would look firmly planted into the landscape, giving it a more intimidating presence. The buildings on the left are generators of a sort. Though I'd rather these be judged by the immediate visual response they give, either a yes or no as to whether they 'fit' the faction properly. Let me know of any ideas that would help develop these concepts along.
  24. I have class in 10 minutes and I didnt have time to color this morning, i'll do it later if it is needed. This is a brick factory, i'm not sure how the bricks would be carried around and loaded onto the storage areas, we need some kind of steampunk forklift or vehicle to move throughout the factory (or atleast sit in the factory to indicate it's use).

    Sorry about my absence guys, I've been doing college applications and essays. But, Are there any environments in particular that the mappers need concepts for? Be sure to let me know and I'll get started. If someone could shout out any other concepts as well, I'll try my best to make some time for them. -Kevin
