  1. AARGH!!! DAMMIT!!! Ok, my guess is that you chucked all the Thievery files, etc where they're ment to be. If this is the case then it could be that some mods are missing. umm. Oh yes, Chaos UT is in there, EcoTerror too. If it's asking for chaos ut things then please download it here: www.planetunreal.com/chaotic If it's not that, then please tell me what it's asking for (dammit ) --Martin

You know it's funny, cos tbefore morrowind there was Redguard. Redguard had one of the most innovative sword fighting IMO. No "sorry you're only level 56, you miss" crap. But that's my opinion. Though the puzzles in the game were so immersive and challenging that their hotline had around 200 calls a day asking for help with the puzzles . But sadly, (as mostly RPG players loved daggerfall and arena, redguard did'nt sell as well as it should have. I bought it myself too) it was'nt as recognised as it should have been. Before Redguard they wanted to make Morrowind to have "vast armies marching the lands" and "over 10000 cells" though technology prevented it. But if you play Redguard, you get a lot more in-depth info on the gods ,etc. (lol, there was one part where you got to another dimension to talk to Clavicus Vile - freaky). There was also this Dark Elf Assassin whose name was Dram (hence my nickname). LOL, it was funny in some points too - governor says "what do i pay you for, Dram?" Dram says "for my chilling countenance, of course". and also - "should we continue with the attack? (Dram said this when explosions were heard from the harbour as the redguards were attacking Stros M'Kai) and the governor replies "who do you think is blowing up our ships, Dram?" . Also, EVERY word said in the game was voice acted. Also, the actual voice acting was superb, the imperial voice actor voice acted for Morrowind too. So basically, Morrowind was meant to be spectacular because of it's armies, though technology (and money) was not so readily available, and as redguard had'nt sold well to the RPG-ers, they did'nt want another dropped game. Hence why Morrowind is as it is. Upon saying this, I wish to say that I have bought Morrowind and all it's expansions (Tribunal, Bloodmon [my favourite!!!]) and my mod count for it is well over 100 (downloaded ones that is). So I think you should give it some slack as it was the RPG-ers that wanted it to be an RPG. Though, the reason of low-environment-detail is that the editor needed placement of EVERY friggin object, so yeah.
  3. Let's not go racist peoples
  4. I second Sparhawk. After I said on another thread that Doom3 uses Havok, Sparhawk said it does'nt. True to his word I checked out the Havok website and there it showed which games use it (Half-life2, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Full Spectrum Warrior, Painkiller, and Max Payne2 are the ones shown on the main webpage) and D3 and UT2004 are not one of them. LOL, if you had a company, you could get an evaluation copy of Havok2 . Anyway, just sayin that i was wrong too. (I personally thought that doom3 used havok cos it looked the same like in 3dMark. ) --Dram
  5. Darkness_Falls: I made changes to Thievery and edited some maps for it and sent it to NH for evaluation.
  6. Okay Tim, Ignore the above post. --Martin
  7. LOL, ok. c'mon, UT's not THAAAAAAAAAT bad is it?
  8. Ahh, I see. I was so sure it uses havok (like HL2, UT2004, FarCry, etc), no matter. I guess a physicalized rope could be difficult... though an animation which makes the rope look like it's fiddling a bit would be enough i think (like in t1, t2). Guess the ropes would be used with the design of the map i guess. One last question: How many people have tried my mod? Just curious. If you've tried it, then please tell me any bugs, suggestions, etc, cos it's greatly appreciated . --Dram
  9. Vadrosaul: My guess would be that they have to sort out Textures, Item Textures, People Textures, Voices, Sounds, Music, Sample maps, etc... Can be quite time-consuming
  10. WTF!?!?! it ruined my beautiful picture
  11. I do have one question however: Will the ropes be physicalized? (as in, will you be able to swing them? [would take advantage of Havok's Ragdoll physics ]) To Guest: Sorry for completely changing the subject, but in reality it is relevant. See, if you can stick a rope arrow into a wooden stick, you could swing to the window, not have to use gloves: ------------ ---------- ------ --- -=-----== | | | / / | | | | / / | ----------- / / | | | | ------ | | | | -----------
  12. I cannot understand one thing: Why has this post stretched to 4 pages? Please Guest, they said that something SIMILAR to climbing gloves will be in place. Isn't that enough? Look, at worst you can chuck them in yourself when the mod is released. Don't get me wrong either, I'm not trying to insult you . Oh I see, guess that talking about something keeps us from counting the 31536000 seconds that are in a year till the release of the mod. I find it pointless to argue about climbing gloves when sparhawk has shown a link to New Horizon's PERFECT climbing gloves (   ), and insulting one another will only lead to something similar like in the thread "I will make your site!" . You see, when I got up to here in typing, I no longer want to waste the time by cancelling this post, so therefore I'm gonna leave it .
  13. good. D3World is cool. I check there occassionally. --Dram
  14. Don't know why, but I just felt i had to say this: In my mod, I've now fixed several.....issues. They are: *Fixed the dumb need-to-press-f12-thing, now done by script. *Fixed the light (p button) and I'm working on the climbing and lockpicking (trying to kill the bugs. after that I'll finish off the 8pin locks.) Hmm. Guess I've found a reason . Which is, that if you guys like my mod and are playing it, then you might want the fixes. Also I'm fixing it cos I play it sometimes. Though Thief2 is still on my computer and played often . --Martin
  15. Translating... Many ar3 7331 haxx0rz caus3 1h3y'r3 s0 c00l 1ha1 1h3y ab50lu13ly mu51 haxx0r any gam3 c0mp31ing wi1h 1h3ir dumb 101ally-7331-haxx0rz-ub3r-gam3 HL2. Translation from 7331ish: Many are elite hacksaws cause they're so cool that they absolutely must hack any game competing with their dumb totally-elite-hacksaw-uber-game HL2.
  16. Many ar3 7331 haxx0rz caus3 1h3y'r3 s0 c00l 1ha1 1h3y ab50lu13ly mu51 haxx0r any gam3 c0mp31ing wi1h 1h3ir dumb 101ally-7331-haxx0rz-ub3r-gam3 HL2. (lets off a feral snarl when thinking of the 7331-haxx0rz in CS) They'll get thier own. Oh wait! They did! You know that hackers used the steam servers to download HL2 (five-finger discount too) ? D00MZ3 3ngin3 4 3va!!! ANYWAY, I played HL2. I borrowed it from my friend, played it (though I Downloaded a crack so that stupid mother-*(too profane to say)* steam would'nt move all my sierra games to the gay steam folder) and it was ok, though it was more scripted then Doom3 and apart from some.......anoying bits (stay here team you tell them "ok, we'll wait here" they say....2 seconds pass...."Follow Freeman!!!" -- AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! makes you resort to genocide) but without steam it's more enjoyable. Never in my whole life would I pay a single cent for that game (don't want any 7331 steam f***ing around with my comp, had enough viruses already). Why do I comment on this? Cos steam is such a bad design decision that I can absolutely not believe they spent money to make playing a game as hard as trying to take out a security van. I think everyone knows by now that if steam so much as smells a CS cheat on your computer it wil take a piss into your case and eat your cd-key. You might say I'm taking this a bit personally (and I agree ) but my friend payed money for his game only to find that some 7331 haxx0rz had already used his cd-key on the net, thus preventing him from playing CSS online. So it is quite personal unfortunately. Valve is so kind to it's inmates, oh sorry! customers... Anyway, my friend returned the game now so it's all good .
