  1. Ive very slowly been trying to learn radient by rebuilding Biffords I could use it years ago but after using 3dmax and teseditor for years Ive forgotten everything. The hardest thing Ive found is getting the distances right. Well that and it looks really odd with the doom3 textures. Oh and in case anyone is interested, not the team obviously but those like me who are learning www.3dbuzz.com has some great Video training movies for doom3

    *sigh*

The mod I was involved with (for morrowind children of the night 3) fell apart for a very simple and admitedly stupid reason. All of us were busy working on our respected parts, I was an interior builder and 3dmax object maker and we didnt realise only one person on the team knew the whole plot and had the info needed to bring it all together. When he had to leave through no fault of his own we tried to continue but with the main plot having holes in it we couldnt. It was rather disheartening as I had put about a years work into it and built about sixty interiors and nearly 100 objects. The remaining team decided to halt work until oblivion and restsrt, as strangly oblivion has a very similar plot to ours My point being it is very easy for small things like this to ruin great mods. I just hope those mods for doom3 dont make the same mistake as we did. write everything down for other to see. You may only have one or two writers but they can leave too.
  4. I meant things like surfaces for rope arrows is it just texture based or surface property?, water setup things that standard doom 3 doesnt normaly do. Shadow set up ie best examples stuff like that. (sorry for the spelling Im rather ill atm and cant think right)
  5. Thanks I should have clarified that I wondered if they would ship with the tools etc.
  6. While I am aware of the many useful tutorials available for doom3 now it has been out for a few months, I wondered if you (darkmod team) will be producing your own? While I am aware that this will create certain levels of overlap it may be helpful to have a tutorial from inside the team to explain the nuances and differences of using the darkmod to create levels rather than vanilla doom3 Thanks Looks cool btw.
