  1. I added two metal textures: panel_rivets_grey02 http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/2915324147764c79603ce.jpg panel_rivets_blue02 http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/2915340147764cc92d094.jpg I also added 01 suffix to panel_rivets_grey, panel_rivets_blue and panel_rivets_rusty file names.

  3. I changed folder name from table_cloth to lace, after considertion I think it's more appropriate. I also added 2 more textures: http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lacehk6.jpg I was wondering lately, is it completely legal to use photos of ornamental fabric like this? After all it's some kind of industrial design.
  4. I deleted iron_fittings_rivets and replaced it with plates_rivets_grey. The new texture shares normalmap and specularmap with panel_rivets_blue.

  6. Heh I don't have that word in my paper dictionary. I guess I'll change the file names now However I wouldn't rename the folder as I plan to make some other table covering.

  8. I created new folder: textures\darkmod\decals\table_cloth with 2 textures inside: rosette_01 and rosette_02. I think that we could do some semi transparent table-cloths using decals placed near the surface (of a table for example). It really works nicely in my opinion: http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=llinenco0.jpg . I uploaded map test/table_cloth if you want to check how it works.
  9. Deus Ex is my favourite game of all time. I loved it even more than Thief. There's so many little details to discover. I saw some time ago a video in which a small military bot ran out of ammo and started to run away. I mean, I finished the game a couple of times but never saw it before! You would rather avoid the bot or destroy it or just die before it went out of ammo. And those pigeons It's the best bird implementation in a computer game I've seen. I would love to see those in Dark Mod.
  10. Moved. Thanks. No, not really I never went beyond drawings in school notebook. And since I finished my education (at least for the present) I actually play guitar and do music on pc more than draw.
  11. Ok so I put it to models\darkmod\props\textures as flag_pirate1 and to misc material file. Now it needs animated model.
  12. Here's my Jolly Roger. I used Corel Painter which I got with my tablet to make the oil painting effect.   15. Yes, I know about it but I wanted to use this photo I made and removing the hinges from it wouldn't make sense. Besides I think it would be hard to get the same effect (hinges under bars) with separate textures. I have also simple doors on my todo list, but a little further

  20. And that's why there should be clear outlines in the diffusemap. Don't get me wrong I think it looks ok. But could better I think.
  21. Exactly. In City_area ambient light comes directly from above so when I tested shingles_red there they looked a bit flat. More 3d effect is when light comes from left or right side of the texture and that's why I should add more shadows to the diffusemap some day (I already added that white stripes).
  22. I judge from the pictures that you converted diffusemap into normalmap but for the shingles fake 3d effect practically doesn't exist. The line between tiles where one is on top of another should be more distinct. In shingles_red texture there's a shadow caused by a normalmap in this place so diffusemap doesn't need to have that line very clear.
  23. You didn't use normalmap of shingles. Diffuse map is just a colour without shadows and contours and without a normalmap it looks a bit flat. I plan to make a better version some day. You could paste beams from your normal onto shingles normal and maybe it would look better?
  24. Darn, I read bricks instead of shingles No, sorry I don't have. But I plan to make better, high res version someday.
  25. I worked on a 2283x2264 image and than scaled down. If you want pictures of red bricks I made a few photos I can send to you tommorow.
