... people from both countries aren't necessarily the best English speakers in the world, as opposed to, say, Scandinavians or the Benelux countries.
Personally it worries me to think someone from those countries would translate missions while they could be doing something more useful for the mod in the same timespan. I can't fathom why anyone from here would prefer the Dutch version over the English one if both were available.

Sounds great to me, especially for horror missions (Amnesia anyone?). When the tense music should stop? When the AI go back to a lower alert state.

The same issues happens now more often with every new mission I play. And in the new Siege shop I even got a CTD out of the blue when I wasn't even saving. Ill try a complete reinstall when traffic is slowed down a bit. In case it has something to do with corrupt files.

Were you running 1.08 or 2.00 when your quicksave crashed?

nope but I feel like I'm missing some basic compu knowledge.
But at this point I think you need to rule out you dont have a virus, so back up your data and wipe the HDD and reinstall windows then come back and let us know if that fixed it.
Will a full scan with malwarebytes not do enough? I remember it could do a 'full scan' a lot faster than microsoft security essentials.

Also check your video drivers. If you let Windows update them (I don't know what OS you're using) or you're running any driver after the 314.22 revision I would revert back until the next WHQL comes out because there have been a number of stuttering issues with them.
Thought it was worth a mention.

- If the cooling fan intake and exhaust grates are dusty, blow them out with a can of compressed air (its a peice of piss). Also check your cpu temps via cpu-z, if it is running hotter then it should then the air blast will help.
- how long has the current build of windows been on that laptop?
- what Anti-virus software are you running?
- have you run task managed to see what applications are using the most CPU time to see if one in particular is coinciding with the freezes etc..?
1: can you do that without opening the machine? From the outside I can't see dust.
2: It was shipped with windows 7. I updated it today, no change in the situation.
3: Microsoft Security Essentials, up to date.
4: I fired up firefox with a few tabs open and started two flash vids (something that used to be no problem). Whenever I get hiccups there is a peak in one of the CPUs usage. Firefox uses the most memory: over 900.000 K. The core temps are up to 52 and 54 degrees celsius. There is no GPU activity

So I have a laptop which is having hiccups lately. Freezing every minute or so for two seconds. I must admit the fan is working harder than it used too, so maybe dusty? I found a video of how to open the laptop but not sure if I'm willing to attempt that. It doesn't feel that hot when it happens. Or could it be memory usage or faulty hardware??? Those are some suggestions from google. I don't know where to start.

This is great! It has a real cinematic quality too, I was anxious to know what would happen next.
It even made me feel positive about some kind of limited body awareness in TDM.
I never understood what is so immersive about being some floating object without legs or a shadow but with arms sticking out, it's like you're not really there. Weren't the thoughts against body awareness not rather based on nostalgia because T1&2 didn't have it and T3 did it poorly?

This happened to me before when playing the lich queens demise. A crash when quicksaving, and after restarting the dark mod the quicksave was corrupted. Lost a lot of progress. This is the error message I got:
Game Error:
idRestoreGame: InitializeCache: Bad Cache offset (769)
The corrupt savegame in Lich Queens Demise was overwritten but I thought it gave the same error. I attached the quicksave.save file (renamed it to quicksave.txt). Anybody knows whats up with it?

The red windows should glow some red light onto its surroundings. Using different colours of light in one area greatly enhances the depth of a scene.

Shouldn't the stealth score be renamed to stealth penalty anyway? Because it's not a score (you shouldn't try to maximise it) but a penalty (try to minimize it). I think I saw one LP where the player was confused because he thought he did great with a high stealth score

That would be a nice setting. You could use the same setting for a small mission. Steal some rare spices from the bazaar or something like that.

3rd shot: some green vegetation would do good. Some vines and weed coming from the cracks in the ceiling and floor
last shot: vary the colour of the crystals but only slightly. So from white to light green and/or from a yellowish green to a more grey green. You can also have the crystals on the floor have a slightly different colour than the ones on the ceiling.

Aren't there easier functions you can use for this in doom_events.script or tdm_events.script? There are some that have names like Looks At or Can See or anything like that.

Well a simple cross in the middle of the room where you're in looks better than the glowing colours of t2.
A map on scale is not that hard come on... If you draw it by hand then put a top view of your map under it and stay in between the lines. You know, like in kindergarten
You can still make it look sketchy/rough or stylised if you want to. -
Seems more difficult
Not sure if its difficult, its been a while since i worked with guis. You'd need to somehow transfer the players location to the gui, could be either very simple or impossible

I'm not talking about the German or Polish translations but the redundancy of Dutch and Scandinavian translations if it wasn't clear. If anyone wants to make those then I would let them know its not the most useful of contributions.
But this doesn't have much to do with the rest of the discussion, I just wanted to put it out there anyways.
