I know JackFarmer is looking for voice actors for his FM, consider reaching out to him: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19948-searching-for-voice-actors/

Was there ever a consensus about what's better to use when sealing off modules? Caulk, shadowcaulk, or just a regular textured brush? I noticed several mappers use different textures when sealing modules, so I'm just curious what's best

Hey, so I was replaying this mission and found two bugs
First one is that the hidden safe in Wade's Brawn and Pawn (amazing name btw) can open and clip through the painting without hitting the button. (I was frobbing around looking for a hidden button when I just opened up the safe instead)
Secondly is a typo in the Thieves correspondence readable on the rooftop. "Take it to take it to..."
Fantastic job though, looking forward to your next one!

Yeah, I'm getting no issues either, and r_showportals 1 DOES work now

Hey, if you need another tester, you can sign me up too!

Wait a minute. Doesn't Kingsal have working powder kegs in Volta 2?
Yep

If the game isn't your bag, I definitely recommend the books by Dmitry Glukhovsky. I've only played Last Light, but it was pretty good. Looking forward to Exodus soon

I love the new paintings, and the new wood colors! Those are actually perfect for the environment I'm trying to build. While I always imagined Bridgeport to be dark and grimy, I feel that Braeden would be a bit more colorful and pleasing to look it. Keep us updated with screens of your work!

Yes, absolutely! I've been making a few as well, but these colored plaster skins look awesome and are perfect for what I'm working on!

A frequent problem I have is the player seems to overshoot my ladders easily and then fall to their death.
This is me in just about every video game with a ladder. Needless to say, I don't go on many ladders in real life.

While this is not an interesting request, it is quite small.
There is Windows TDM installer made by Freyk.
We plan to place it on official site soon.
It would be great if you contact him and suggest proofreading from your side.
I think all the user-visible text is located in this file, but it's better to ask Freyk.
Yeah, I'd be happy to help. I'll reach out to him tomorrow if he doesn't read this and send a PM before that

Hey guys! I've already helped a few people with this over the past six months or so for their FMs, but now I figured I'd put it out there in the open. I'm a professional fiction editor by trade and I absolutely love this community, so I want to help. While I don't have any technical expertise or masterful mapping skills (although I'm getting there... slowly) what I can do well is tell you how to write better and argue why the Oxford comma is superior. So don't hesitate to reach out if you want someone to look over FM readables, mission briefings, wiki articles, etc., etc. Moral of the story: I can words good and I want to help you words good too!

I am using f.lux for quiet a while now, which may be of help until something changes in that regards (if it changes, of course). Although I have to admit that besides the practical reasons the dark look definetely has something to it.
I definitely second this. I've been using f.lux for years now and it definitely helps reduce eyesores when on the computer at night.

Ha, the Witcher novels are fantastic. Definitely an enjoyable read. And Neil Gaiman has his hands in a lot of things, but as far as I remember he started out as a novelist. He did the Sandman graphic novels, he wrote a couple episodes for Doctor Who, and he does a fair bit of collaborations with other authors (as shown by Good Omens). But if you are looking to read more of Gaiman, pick up his book "Neverwhere". It's a wonderful urban fantasy novel (one of his first I believe), and I think that its setting will appeal to a lot of Dark Mod fans.

Wow, well since this thread as been brought back from a very old grave, I guess I'll share mine. I'm currently reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Hilarious book that reminds me a bit of the movie Dogma. Definitely a great read, especially if you like those two authors.

I'm going to throw my hat into this ring and give my two cents, as I'm actually one of the beta testers of the specific map in question. When I did the first round of testing on this map I noticed the (abundant) similarities, but I was operating under the false assumption that I was either wrong and misremembering how A New Job was or that Springheel had given his permission to use that city block in question. I tried to stay out of it as I figured that issue belonged to better minds that I. I feel terrible about it though. I should have spoken up at the time, but I didn't because I couldn't possibly believe that someone would just outright copy/paste an entire city block from someone else's map.
And I'm speaking out now not to stoke the already sky-high flames but for my own piece of mind because I'm fucking frustrated. Months ago, when Biker had posted a call out for people to test Penny Dreadful 2 for bug fixing and minor stuff like that, I volunteered and when I loaded up the .pk4 file and played the game, it was hard not to notice all the creative changes but again, I had assumed they were all sanctioned. They weren't. I went through the map and listed out all the bugs in my notebook and when I finally got back online to post them in the beta thread, I found that I had walked into a shitstorm of drama. Melan was pissed, and rightfully so of course, and he spoke his piece. But I felt fucking awful, I felt like an accessory to a crime because I had unknowingly volunteered to beta test corrupted fruit.
I absolutely love this community and as I'm learning how to make my own map I want to be able to help out in any way I can, be it through beta testing or proofreading/editing, but the shit that is being pulled off right now is NOT okay. I could understand like maybe copy/pasting a pipe or maybe a complicated arch, some kind of obscure patchwork that is hard to replicate (I, personally, hate patches and think they're the devil) but this was a whole city block! That city block is outright plagiarism and I want no part in supporting it.
Some1stoleit: I'm sorry you're map is being dragged through the mud like this, that's gotta be frustrating as hell. I'm still happy to help beta test of course (I'm pretty excited for its final release) but only so long as that portion of the map is gone.
Biker, you've been such a helpful person to this community and you've always clocked in a heroic amount of man hours to fix things and help out newcomers, but Judith is right. Copying that city block (or using it as a "template" and only changing a few things around) is NOT okay in any way shape or form and this kind of behavior should not be endorsed or encouraged. This is on you to fix it.
Edit: I hope this is the relevant thread for my semi-rant that didn't quite answer the question, but I didn't want to say this in the beta test thread.
