What exactly do you mean by "realtime radiocity"? ZBrush can do a lot of crazy stuff realtime, why they can't, they made a special program for themselves, so it runs there.
  2. What exactly are you refering to? Well, the tutorial seems OK and as long as there are the needed commands there is no trouble. I had to use the RemoveAllItems to make a spell that deletes all items in a container (and makes guards naked), but when I wanted to actually make the items transfer to myself, I never found anything like GetAllItems. Oh, and that is a list of regions where a certain script IS used.
  3. Well, if I take a summoning enchantment and tell it to change from scroll to staff it says - can't have that! But I'm going through a spell scripting tutorial right now. I found a spell, not a staff, though... Looks like my .esm is a bit ragged... The second line - http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...ipts#OnActivate There is a list of regions.
  4. Er... Where is that? There isn't any such options on the enchantment or staff... I'll try to get along with the scripts, I guess... Are those lists of regions in the help under script types are places where the script will work or something?
  5. Downolad it and see for yourself. I'm moderate, it is OK but it is much less than I expected it.
  6. heXen 1 regarding fantasy/FPS/puzzle/tinyRPG mix. But Hades is it old... I tried to put an enchantment on a staff in the CS, but it looks like there are no suummoning enchantments for staff, which is completely lame but I don't know what to do, it just blocks me and that's it.
  7. ShadowCaster? Are you refering to the old game by Raven?
  8. Oh, really, what am I playing at... http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...hp?cid=7&lid=61
  9. Eh, you don't necessary have to play one, unless it's a special case, like Mount&Blade.
  10. Stare? There is nothing to stare upon. Play any game with decent architecture and Oblivion will become the most boring game regarding world ever. Wood, dungeons, white wall. Oh, yeah, and Oblivion.
  11. It's LotR based - has Gondor Knights and Rohan Riders and all, but I didn't see it, people really seem to like it. But I'm currently just traveling and being robbed by Dark Knights every once in a while, me and my Borcha...
  12. There shoulf be no progression at all. A rat is a rat and a daedra is a daedra, did you ever see progression in Gothic? And there you can just go back to a cave you couldn't cope with days ago... Here... No matter what cave, all same.
  13. Great picture, and I agree with Dom.
  14. I tried to mace my own "World Space". I'm not sure if that's the right place to go... I just want a clear patch where I can put an area that is then going to be turned into player starting point, a place where you can put trees and herbs and a tent where the player has slept. Like you start in the world of Cronos, nothing to do with the whole Tamriel... You're just some guy waking up in a forest near a tent with certain weapons, items around you, whatever... And no connection to Tamriel, I don't want to have even a map... Well, maybe I'll draw one, but I'll won't be able to make it work anyway... Also, can you restrict the player to not be able to choose his stats and class? And if you said Blade of Woe is leveled - how can I make my world if everything is leveled? Or did you mean that only in-game items are leveled, but I don't have to make such, I can put a wolf that would be the same HP for the rest of his existence in the forest and he'll stay like that, or is that NOT possible? Because if it isn't, making your world makes no sense, I hate autolevel...
  15. Well, for one thing, as I have just downloaded the editor and been digging in it for a while, they have leveled creatures, and just creatures. I mean, can you just make the whole world over? Delete whatever you don't like and even chuck the player into a wood at the beginning of the game without any quests on him, and put certain rats there and certain wolves there, not leveled ones. Also, can you create new creatures? With differents stats and abilities, I mean? Like in NWN you can make new items and stuff be mixing parts of other items - if I wanted to make a wraithwerge you could just take some staff pieces and put them together until you got more or less what you wanted...

Yep, just take heXen, Thief (yours, too), maybe some RPG's, most Quests - hom much detailization they have? And then look at Oblivion! All white and same. Or red and same...
  17. Well, I did buy Oblivion, and though I'm moderate on it, I don't regret it much, because it is the first game that my dad had played seriously in years. He thinks it's Diablo 3D, but he's happy. So, I don't regret it. I think I'll spend a lot of time in Construction Set. I wonder if there is absolutely any way to put a wraithwerge either. Make the model, and make it summon 7 super-powerful ghosts that have gigantic damage and speed and that dissappear after they dealt a certain amount of damage - is there any way to make something like that in Oblivion at all? The way you are describing Redguard, it sounds like a fantasy puzzle FPS, and those didn't came since heXen... What do you mean by an Action game? The way Oblivion point to everywhere is very annoying... Just as I'm about to figure something out on my own, someone shows up and leads you to it, or at least there is a point on the map... Shadowcrap...
  18. Hey, someone played M&B here! That game absolutely rules! Did anyone try the Last Days mod, Tolkien-like?

Eh, the damn Offset reached even here... Well, OK, they have good graphics, but only because they are preparing for 2007 if they are lucky (2009). The game is a Fantasy FPS too, and they even dare to say that it's the first one, but regarding the game, it looks like something very banal to me. Just take DnD standarts, nothing original, boring ugly trolls with giant maces. I'll be more impressed with a beautifully designed old Thief level than a big ugly troll that looks like it contains 100,000,000,000 polygons... And they seem to be really happy with that troll...
  20. Well, that is good for Ubisoft - people in US won't buy a Starforced game. Anyone played the demo yet?
  21. Lockpicking for me is like intuitive. I don't know why but at some point if just raise that thing and I'm correct. The sound, I guess. Also, the tumblers have a habit of slowing down after the second-third try. Like in that .avi, every tumbler stuck after 2 tries. Stealing is a problem - I'm playing something like a paladin and I'm not stealing on purpose - absolutely nowhere to get money. Dungeons are full of bandits with cheap fur coats, and quests don't pay well either. But, also - where the dark zone are the good weapons and armor? The best thing I found so far was a steel claymore. Will there be better weapons in shops ever?
  22. I wonder why you all hate SF... If the game's mechanics won't follow at least somewhat close to Mount&Blade it shall be downloaded only... Hate slashers. Looks fun though... Strange... Dark Messiah, Project Offset, companies are trying to go in heXen's direction a bit. FPS in fantasy, finaly, way to go, way to go.
  23. The game is better than TES3, that's for sure, only I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment. Don't know where to go. And afraid to follow the main story. But a good game, still. My card is ASUS Extreme AS850, Pentium D Dual Core 2.80Ghz processor, and 1.00 Gb of RAM. The game runs OK with a few slowdowns on 1280x1024 with 6x AA, but I almost removed the shadows and lowered the view distance a bit so I could change from 1024x9**... Looks great, graphically. I love the catacombs, the grass, the trees, the armor... The AI doesn't seem smart though. They walk around, talk about nothing, go to sleep at night (reminds me of Mount&Blade), and tell the same thing if you click rumors. Also, a "bug" that really angried my - I joined the fighters guild and then was ordered to kill some rats. I killed the rats before I talked to the woman in the house. When I talked to her, she said that the rats are already dead so I failed my contract! I hate the zoom-to-face thing. Especially if it zooms to some ugly orc! Anyone plays warrior classes around here?
  24. As I just said, people don't know Management DirectX, and so don't know that possibly C# can be almost as powerful as C++, but faster and more effective to write in. Some games are more optimised than others, didn't you notice? Many games with equal or lower graphics slow down on my computer and other computers, while DooM 3 runs flawlessly(Serious Sam, Half-Life 2, Starship Troopers). People don't all write the same in C++, so optimisation paramounts are not that crucial, Half-Life 2 sold better than DooM 3, in fact. Carmack's engines are the best, but there will always be games that have worse optimisation. C# uses Garbage Collection, but it can be controlled and even turned off... If you say C#, just like C++, was a new star on the horizon, how come C++, being such a star, the most powerful language today? Languages mean nothing? Do you hear yourself? Yeah, you may learn C#, Java, whatever, after C++, they are simple. But can you learn C++ and write well in it easily if you are a Java programer? I don't think so. It will at least take you much time. You didn't say whether or not you used C# properly. I seen old Apple next to Windows 95-98, and windows is easyer to get along with(looks better too). They didn't envent anything. They didn't have to. A new invention is not much use until it is worked on. Yeah, Linux is better than Windows, Novell is better than whatever equivelent of Windows was, maybe, but they are made more for programmers than users. But I guess only a user can understand this. Programmers will simply continue to harp on bugs, which are more often in Windows than everywhere else. But Microsoft is for users, and, of course, they don't allow same programms installed on two different OS'es, but, em, this is competition, every large company will be called ugly and sinister by those who preffer something else and Microsoft doesn't really let them. Now, though, Windows is fading, for everything does, and games can be installed on Linux and Windows both. Nothing for you to worry about. Also, my dad's programs WEREN'T slow and bad and hard to follow. Don't offend people just because of your hate of opposing talk. I can show you some of his C++ code for you to check, I guess. But I see there is no sense in talking to Microsoft-haters and know-it-alls. Thanks to Gildoran for respecting to the conversation. I probably won't say no more(to sparhawk, at least), this will go to flame and avoidance, I feel.
  25. To sparhawk - so, I guess you live in a place where programmers can learn to write in C++ easily on their own and not reinstal their Windows at the same time? Don't you know about all C++ problems with the memory leaks and all that? My dad knows C++ and he wrote in it all his life, but know he can use C# and he says C# is MUCH better to work with because it doesn't have all C++ problems. And the better the language is, the more complex the tasks can become. I wonder if you wrote in C# yourself. C# is not Java, either. In fact, most normal programs but games are going over to C# now. What, they all gone crazy? And with Management DirectX, maybe games will too, when there are enough C# programmers about... I wasn't talking to Istvan about why you use C++. I was talking about whether it makes sense for new programmers to write in it. Of course, if you want to make DooM mods you'll need to know it. c777 - explain this idiotic hate of Microsoft, please. I wonder where the regular people be now, if it wasn't for Microsoft. Trying to istall a completely carzy OS of some ingenios programmer who didn't give a back thought of how regular people should get along with it?
