Well I have not gone to school to work on computer programming so I wouldn't know how to make this game even better.

I'm glad I'm sharing this with you guys, we don't know what the future holds for TDM, but hopefully we get something good sometime in 2020. And yes, maybe we're not ready for sequel just yet, but this game still has a lot to offer. I'm no game designer nor programmer, just a gamer myself. And it would be great to get a city hub in TDM just like in Thief Deadly Shadows. The game engine for TDM is good for right now, not too bad.

You're right, it would be much easier to put the Unreal Engine 4 features into the Darkmod engine, but someone has to have the time to do it to make it happen, I wonder who could do it and make it into a success? Only time will tell. The Dark Mod 2 would be a great sequel in the making to continue the legacy of the Thief franchise for those taffers that love this game so much as much as I do, let's just be hopeful and see what happens for the future of The Dark Mod for many years to come.

At least the updates will be getting for TDM still is for any bug fixes and improvements that may be present in the game at this point, so at least we don't have to worry about updates not coming anymore that relate just for fixing the game.

It would be interesting to see a sequel one day. The Dark Mod 2 using Unreal Engine 4 if no more updates are planning to come out for the original game.

Oh ok, so it's pending right now what the future updates for TDM is going to come into the new year, got it. Thanks for the heads up.

Good question, I don't know when TDM version 2.08 will be released. You may want to ask the developer about that.

Oh ok, thanks for the info. This will do for now. Despite not being a big game like other PC games you would buy from Steam or Origin. This game is pretty much will and always remain the same in terms of features and gameplay, nothing much will change that I know about at this point.

What plans are in store for TDM next year in 2020 such as new features or anything in between? I do know new fan missions are always releasing periodically. Just want to know what new things we can expect for the future of TDM going into the new year.

Ok, I fixed the problem, I had to uninstall the redistributable package in order for TDM to install the files for the updater to work properly.

I am using TDM version 2.07 as the latest version up to date, no using older versions of the game. Oh ok, maybe whenever the next version for the game which is 2.08 Hopefully it will fix the updating problem. I'm sure it is the server that doesn't recognize the package file for Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable No need to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable, I've done that before and it didn't work the way I wanted to so I learned my lesson that time. tdm_update.log

Yes, the game works just fine but the problem I am having is that I can't update TDM from the "tdm_update.exe" It just won't update for anything current up to this point.

I keep getting this error message saying that "Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package failed to install. You have to install it yourself in order to run the game. Run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe in game directory and make sure installation completes successfully. I already have the latest version of the package from when I update Windows 10 from Windows update. Why is this happening to me? How do I fix it to make it go away?

I'm having trouble installing this new FM. It doesn't appear in my list of downloadable missions in the main menu. I created a new folder called vitalicfever" in my "fms" folder in my "The Dark Mod" directory and placed the "hhvf.pk4" file in it. What should I do next?

Ok, thank you for the info. This will definitely help. Are there also custom content I can also download to put in my game as well? Like mappers uploaded custom guard appearances for both male and female models?

I didn't get any error message when the game crashed which was weird. It just crashed to the desktop like nothing ever happened.

I'll look for a tutorial on how to do this if there is one somewhere online.
