  1. It's annoying what Youtube has done with the requirement to view ads. I get they need to make money, but that's not my concern, mine is that it's viewer choice. I have no less than 5 popup/adblock/tracker extensions running at the same time, and I've had to whitelist them all on Youtube's domain to be able to peruse content.

It's important to be able to block unofficial ad content because some payload malware scripts, depending on the site. This is how you get infiltrated, by unknowingly allowing it. Blocking everything outside the primary page load is a good idea.

I'll try this script. Thanks for the share.

Good question, that would be something different for a change. Is she familiar with the setting (pagans, guards)?

Yup. She has played all the original Thiefs and TDM mods, knows all the factions and characters, Benny, Basso, Jenivere, etc.

  3. I think it was even better in 2022. I count 14 released (Maybe not Sneak and Destroy because it was a rerelease?):

    1. Newford Road
    2. Written in Stone
    3. Hazard Pay
    4. Moving Day
    5. Iris
    6. Noble Affairs
    7. By Any Other Name
    8. A House Call
    9. Eastbound
    10. Who Watches the Watcher
    11. Lucy's Quest
    12. Quinn Co 2
    13. In Plain Sight
    14. Sneak and Destroy

Back to basis, I can think of three mandatory main rules:

    1.
    2. The door mustn't be locked: the reason is that if a door is locked perhaps it isn't the time to know what's behind. Besides, for the peek to work it would seem we must "travel" to other side and we could accidentally trigger a goal before its time. If a door is unlocked nothing is preventing you from passing through therefore you can peek through it pretty safely.
    3.

I can't say I agree with the premise that the door must be locked to see inside. That isn't very real-world such that if a door has a keyhole, it shouldn't matter its' lock/unlock state to be able to peek. Furthermore, I can foresee game applications where there is an advantage to peeking in a room to find a character player, yet the door stays locked and the mission requires other means to get into that room, aka thru secret or a vent hatch or something. This seems like an unnecessary restriction, and I might say same for chests. If the author doesn't want the door (or chest) to allow peeking, then leave the peek script out of that function or have an alternative identical asset library of doors/chests without the peek ability.

  5. Yep the mission is pretty old and has some glitchy flaws, not much of a storyline, and empty furniture-less rooms, so it's not going to have depth and look and feel like recent ones, but the vertical-ness and snowy scenery is what makes it great. You rope up the castle to top balconies and you get a great view on a majestic scale. That's what makes it a memorable mission for me.

  6. So I did rate this mission highly because it's extremely dedicated to being a classic Thief "sneak and loot" as you can get, no crazy ghouls and spiders and monsters, no keeper magic, no puzzles, no weird fireballs or blue flames, just simple pure thievery in a small town setting with clear and simple missions, akin to taking out an enemy in a mansion of roaming guards and servants. Old school. Classic.

  7. I was curious how much better the -K version is, so I found a comparison.

         https://makethatpc.com/intel-core-i7-12700-vs-core-i7-12700k/

In summary, performance of not much more for single core but a big 50% more for multi core, plus personal nerdiness factor to care that it even matters. Either is going to soar, and myself currently on a 3rd gen i7 and not ever complaining about performance, the 12th gen i7 non-K is still worlds better than that.

  8. That may not be the best deal coming up with Black Friday almost here, but that thing is gonna run like a champ on steroids. A good value is only worth money minus convenience, hence the formula:

    • GV=M-C

therefore Good Value (GV) can further be broken down into:

    • GV=(M-C) / (Eom+P)-(A+R)

where Good Value is equal to (Money minus Convenience), divided by (Ease of mind plus Peace) less (Anger plus Rage).

Only YOU can determine what your true GV is.

  9. I was hearing that they would go out of business 5 years ago. They are still here, like Comp USA is still here and Circuit City is still here, in online form. Even if Gamestop eventually struggles with physical stores, they are still one of the main go-to places for new console launches, used games sell/trade, and fan merchandise. They have digital license agreements with some big names and the margins are apparently good enough to stay afloat, for now. In 5 years maybe that will change.
