    Pretty sad when a 3.5 GHz CPU loses to a 3.3 GHz CPU in a race... especially when the 3.5 GHZ CPU is a couple years newer! The older chip rendered a scene in 3:05 and the newer one took 3:55!

      Nope, I raced Phenom II X6 1100t vs the FX 6300 in Blender Cycles. I still feel I got a good deal though because this FX6300 and mobo were extremely cheap and I used them to rebuild a Pentium 4 hunk-o-junk.

      It makes you wonder though if we can get more speed out of the FX6300. For example, it has new instructions that the Pii lacks entirely like SSE4. If they were used by Blender, would it be faster? Would it catch up with the Pii?
