    Have you tried the mission independent keyhole peeking which Snatcher created for his Modpack and I included in the Unofficial Patch? Does it look weird under Linux as well?

    @wesp5

    I haven't tried Snatcher's Modpack.

    At this moment I don't think that I want to tinker with the install. I was more wondering about the feature than missing it. 🙂

    Hey, so to clarify this point: Yes, the specific FM author has to implement it in their FM. This feature won't work on say, Tears of St. Lucia, as the authors of that map did not implement the feature. Usually the (very few) mission authors that use this will make a note about it on their FM release thread

    @Amadeus.

    Thank you for clearing that up. 🙂

    Btw. Linux Mint 21.x Cinnamon or Mate or Xfce are all based on Linux Ubuntu 22.04 64 bit.

  3. I have a question regarding the "look through keyhole" feature in TDM 2.11.

    I have almost finished "Seeking Lady Leicester" and tried out this feature on multiple keyholes.

    What I get is darkness, sometimes outside architecture and sometimes a keyhole shaped look at the door around the keyhole.

    Is it only working if the author(s) implement it in FM's?

    Install is running on Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon

  4. Thank you for a great puzzle fm!

    I'm having real trouble with the

    Spoiler

    Light puzzle; I've been dabbling with it for a couple of hours, and I've given up.

    I did use the guide supplied by V-Man339 and I've realized, that I've been doing it right all the time.

    The problem occurs when the light from the last mirror B3 - according to the guide, hits the Statues head.

    It doesn't hit center like it does in the YouTube video.

    I have tried hitting the button for that mirror B3 several times, to see if I were able to hit the Statue head center.

    And I've also tried several other combinations with the other mirrors involved.

    And I do have a save file prior to messing with the mirrors, that I use every time...

  5. @nbohr1more

    @grayman

    So I finished this brilliant Fan Mission from the likewise brilliant William Steele series using the 2.09beta version of TDM.

    I wasn't able to reproduce any crashes or freezing of the game.

    I did start out with the darkmod.cfg from version 2.08, but decided to delete it, and let TDM recreate it.

    And I restarted for the second time with the 2.09beta version.

    @grayman:

    A question about the

    Spoiler

    well key. I was in possession of the well key, but couldn't find anywhere to use it. The electric main door and the next door, leading to the crypt area, were both working without the use of any key(s).

    Was it meant to be used anywhere else?

    Can you reproduce this in 2.09 beta:

    ?

    Hi nbohr1more: I've just made a fast upgrade to version beta209-02 and speed played through the sewer, and so far it hasn't frozen or crashed, at the spot after the second conversation in the Compound.

    I'm going to finish the mission and report back with the result.

    Off topic: Is beta209-02 supposed to have a more bright interface and option screen? I did say yes to regenerate the old darkmod.cfg.

    I have not read the complete list of bug fixes and new features at the link provided.

    Do not regenerate the old darkmod.cfg, like I did, it will probably produce anomalies.

  7. Happy New Year!

    I've just begun replaying the WS series for the third time, and I'm having trouble with the game freezing, or crashing to the desktop, right after the second conversation in the compound finishes. (The conversation where the man wearing a straw hat talks about a map, and a new objective arrives.)

    What I've done so far is to delete the files from fms folder, and re download them through the in game downloader.

    I've also applied the patch called "ws3_cleighmoor.map".

    I've used a save game from before the crash and backtraced through the sewer to make sure that all doors were closed.

    I'm on Linux Mint 19.3 (Ubuntu 18.04) 64bit Cinnamon, and TDM is "Version2.08 File thedarkmod.x64"

    As said it's not the first time I play this mission, and the hardware is the same;

    Intel i7 cpu, Intel chipset, 16gb ram and Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 using driver version 450.80.02.

    I have encountered the occasional crash to desktop from time to time, but not a lot, and with the 64 bit version of TDM, it runs really well generally.

    I'm now going to start over WS3 with a newly downloaded version, and not using old save games.

    EDIT: After re downloading WS3, and starting a new, I'm getting the same result; game freezes just as the Map objective arrives.

  8. Hello I've been replaying a handful of missions, the last couple of days, and a little problem seems to be reoccurring.

    Some loot, usually blue money pouches is un frobbable;

    In the mission "Chalice of Kings" v.3.4 there are 2 pieces of loot that I'm unable to pick up.
    One of the pieces is found in the Library, inside the desk (I think), and the other is well hidden inside the captains room.
    The last mentioned piece of loot can be tricky to pick up if the thing covering it is pressed inward (so I've read), but I did dabble with it for about 20 minutes, always reloading before another attempt. Never succeed to pick it up.

    Another mission I encountered an issue with is "Breaking out the fence" v 1.0, inside the safe are 3 blue money pouches, one oblong and two round.
    I'm unable to pick up one of the round pouches.

    I'm playing on Expert in both missions.

    I'm using TDM version 2.05 running on Linux Mint 17.3/Ubuntu 14.04.

    Does anyone have any ideas about these issues?

  9. Okay I replayed the mission fast, and this time I ended up

    at the right place; in the room with the coffin.
    By the way,for your information I did encounter one crash to the desktop when entering the tunnel to the above mentioned room.

    And another crash in the church, just out of the blue

    I like the mission and the story so far. The ship is very well constructed. :)
