I think we can use this script (mod) to extract all textures with specular maps, and if possible, create a map for testing. Unfortunately, I'm not yet familiar with the editor to help with this.
I came here because I plan to work on textures more thoroughly, and I'm currently reading the wiki on texturing issues. In general, I'm interested in this topic.
Maybe I'm not competent at all, but is it possible to make a texture have a constant reflection (yes/no) and a variable with a setting in the editor/accompanying document (?) that controls the intensity?
For example, the same object/texture can behave differently on different maps.

Is there a reason why you post with white background and black letters? Because it is really hard on the eyes with a dark setting!
OMG
Fixed!
Probably all because I copied from the translator, and the editor somehow preserves the background, very strange behavior.- 1

Another small UI mod
This mod moves the health bar below the air bar, placing both above the LightGem.SpoilerFeatures:
- Moves the health bar below the air bar.
- Does not require any additional configuration.
- Compatible with my previous mods.
Installation:
- Download the zzz_ui_settings.pk4 file.
- Place the file in the game's root directory.
Uninstallation:
- Delete the zzz_ui_settings.pk4 file from the game's root directory.
Enjoy!
Additional notes:
- This mod is a small, standalone change that does not require any additional settings.
- If you encounter any issues, please let me know.

Well, I don't know about adding new difficulties, that seems like a lot of work. A hack way of getting the same effect, and which I use, is to create a simple .cfg file with the required changes and then execute it in-game (e.g. a text file called brutal.cfg then, in-game "exec brutal"). You could redefine the modifiers for, say, the hardcore difficulty, which are usually tdm_ai_hearing_hardcore "1.5" & tdm_ai_vision_hardcore "1.005" to something higher, although I don't know if they are capped or how to interpret those values. There are other cvars that might be useful, but I have never tried them. tdm_ai_sndvol seems useful.
You'd have to test the changes in-game, probably in the Sound & Blackjacking map. For this, there are some very useful commands to see the sound direction, propagation, and values, but I can't remember them right now.
There's an important caveat here, and why messing around with this stuff should be done at your own risk. I have found that some cvars go back to their default values as soon as you load or die, while others seem to stick around. Modifiers to the player's height (like pm_normalviewheight), revert to default if you load, but modifiers to the player's speed (pm_walkspeed) don't. And I know this because I have a .cfg file named halfling.cfg, and you can imagine what it does. To avoid this, I have a "default" cfg to restore the game to the normal values if (or when) something goes wrong (it's basically a copy of the Darkmod.cfg, but with a different name, and I only use it for this purpose.)
Thank you! I'll try all of this

Download the mission Seeking Lady Leicester and load it. Approach the one door, crouch and lean forward on the keyhole. You should see the street outside.
Does it work?
No

The TDM's autocommands.cfg file allows you to set hotkeys automatically (among other things) and you probably want to check how it works and see if you can set your preferred key bindings there. The Modpack includes an autocommands.cfg file with some examples.
Oh no, that's not how the Steam Deck works. On a computer, each key is programmed to do only one thing. In any game, when you press "F", the system will understand that the "F" key was pressed.
But on the Steam Deck, I have to assign functions to each key myself. For example, I can make the "A" button act as "space" and the left trigger as "right-click".That's why I'm saying that opening the console on the Steam Deck is difficult. Even though it has a lot of buttons, I have to temporarily program three keys for functions that are not really used.

I found this file: mainmenu_settings_gameplay.gui
It contains the following settings:
choiceDef AIVision
{ rect SETTINGS_X_OFFSET, 0, 80, MM_LINE_H choices "#str_07323" // Nearly Blind;Forgiving;Challenging;Hardcore values "0;1;2;3" }
Can you please help me find where the parameters
choices
andvalues
are referenced?
Edited: Maybe I shouldn't have rushed...
I was able to register a new difficulty setting using
english.lang
But I still can’t find where they are addressed for difficulty levels( -
I'm looking for the setting that controls the number of difficulty levels in the options menu.
The current "hardcore" setting is not challenging enough for me, and I'd like to make it more difficult, like this one for thief.
I can edit the Darkmod.cfg file and would like to know if I can create a separate *.pk4 file with this file, removing everything unnecessary except the parameters I need. Will the game load the default settings from the game root and the additional data from my file?
Of course, it would be better if you could tell me how to create an additional difficulty setting. I've searched through all the archives and couldn't find what I need.
Thank you for your help.

It is good that people like stuff but I don't get to hear what people don't like. By all means, let us know what you dislike or disagree with and why!
Overall, your pack seems almost perfect to me!)
Maybe it would be possible to add a frob outline like in the unofficial patch. I only play with the Steam Deck, and using the console on it is very difficult. After all, each button on it needs to be configured separately. Maybe if someone suggests what I can directly configure in the config, it will completely solve my problem.
I haven't played many missions yet, and the ones I remember are the two standard ones and "No Honor Among Thieves." There are a lot of items in these missions. Adding new skills has become frustrating for me because it takes a long time to find the right item in my inventory, and this happens every time.
I also wanted to say that I haven't found a proper use for the OBSERVATION, COMBINATION, DISTRACTION, and ALTERATION skills. I play on the highest difficulty and don't feel like it's too hard for me, and all these skills, in my understanding, are designed to simplify the gameplay. In theory, MANIPULATION should also be on this list, but I found a use for it.) But no matter where or how I use OBSERVATION, I always see blackness. Maybe it depends on the map?
The main problem is still the inventory. I would like it to have fewer unused items.) I even throw away picked up books and scrolls after reading them to keep them from cluttering up my inventory. I also installed the original Thief games, and it feels like they have a lot fewer items. That's how it is.

Wouldn’t it be arrogant of me to ask you to name the skills and packs the same? I don’t like some mods, and I have to manually remove them and check the site to make sure that alteration=penumbra ?)

Hi!
Basically, I made these changes purely for myself, but suddenly someone will be interested in playing with them in the same way.
1) Tweaked Lightgem- Cleaner Design: I've streamlined the Lightgem by removing those small side details. After all, you already know if you're crouched, right?
- In-Game Look: Check out how it appears in your game:
SpoilerEditor View: Here's a peek from the editor for good measure:
SpoilerEasy Install: Drop the 'x_newlightgem.pk4' file into your game's root directory to install. To remove, simply delete the file.
2) Tweaked HUD
- Vibrant Upgrade: I've boosted the color intensity of your health and air bars for better visibility.
- Sharper Look: Redesigned the 'staples' along the edges, cleaned up textures, and added a touch more definition.
SpoilerInstallation Note: Unfortunately, .pk4 files weren't playing nicely for this tweak. Simply unzip the included 'dds.rar' archive into your game's root directory.
3) Health\Air Bar Relocation
- Streamlined HUD: Health bar repositions for easier monitoring.
- Zero Fuss: No extra settings to mess with.
- Plays Nice: Works seamlessly with my other mods.
-
How its look:
Spoiler
Installation:
- Download the zzz_ui_settings.pk4 file.
- Place the file in the game's root directory.
Uninstallation:
- Delete the zzz_ui_settings.pk4 file from the game's root directory.
Let me know if you'd like any other tweaks!
