Er? Those are just textures? Not models? Such details without added polies? When technology is high enough, it indeed is indistinguishable from magic!
(Can we have those for tdm, pretty pretty please...)
Yes those are just textures. It's an expensive rendering pass though.

argh...looks very good..in a good dark map it could improve so much
every time i look at th skyrim trailer i think come on that looks so much better. But here and there i think i can also get near to this level in my map but then the performance is the killer...thats so depressing and i have no compulsion to map the level for tdm...
Just work within the confines of the technology, your work is amazing for what is available to you. You may not like it 100% but believe me, you are one of a few people who can eek out that much visual glory from IDTech4

I made a youtube video with Sikk's POM, and just thinking about all those polys from a model makes my head explode.
-
Yes, but it was a light that I wanted to tweak and the command is then "reloadimages"
Try:
bind F11 reloadimages
then just press F11 everytime.

Meh, nothing impressive there at all. Just a hallway lacking any personality or character.

But still awesome! Alienware is so expensive ... and good looking. Care to post a picture?
btw, I wonder where I can get:

What Catalyst version do you use, and what OS? In all versions starting with 10.12, you can't disable CatAI anymore, at least not with Vista/Win7.
I thought I read that somewhere, great, fucking ATI and forcing "optimizations" on us that break shit.

Love it. <3

Ah Ok, so more like a GTX470 then..?
Nope, GTX470 is about 43% faster. My cards are not that fast, but are more than enough for Doom 3 at 1920x1200@4xAA and 8xAF.

believe me,I never changed mind about TDM,I liked it since I first have know about it and even after release.
but there some missions I critically dislike ,that's why people think that's I'm just trolling around...
The problem is that you critically disliked ALL of them, as evidenced by your voting 1/5 in every category for almost every mission when you first started here. That IS trolling.
You seem to have lightened up a bit and have voted intelligently for the more newer missions which is good, but believe me people have not forgotten your attitude towards their stuff me included. I'll be looking at your map with the same critical eye that you used to judge the works of others and will be voting accordingly. Your mission better be the second coming or it's going to take all the man power in the world to get your foot out of your mouth.

thats a monster laptop you got there AH.. those 260M in sli are I imagine almost it not faster than a desktop GTX580....
LOL no I WISH!
A GTX580 desktop part is around 437% faster than the GTX260M SLi according to various benchmarks. The 260M part is the G92b chip which is the old GeForce 9800 GT desktop part.

Hi,
I know that I've posted a few technical help questions on this forum about this before, but I really need some help.
My doom3 copy is very "bugged".
My Doom 3 is THE CORRECT 1.3.1 (BTW).
Firstly.
There is a doom 3 bug where corpses which are gibbed dissapear (as normal ). Then Reappear for a few seconds headless then dissapear.
Secondly,
Using most mods causes the crosshair to be positioned incorrectly. The bullet always hits the lower right of the crosshair.
I use an ATI mobility 5730 card windows 7 x64 bit, for references. ATI CCC 10.7
Is this due to my faulty doom 3 CD?
I've heard some people have this issue on the steam forums too.
Thanks.
Make sure Catalyst AI is turned off.
-
What the fuck it was the bloom! Turned off Post Processing in the advanced graphic settings and that did solve it!
I could not imagine that, and I still don't understand why this causes such unnatural errors, but without Post Processing, the resolution works fine.
Thumbs up for you guys for helping me! Hopefully someone got an idea if this can be fixed somehow for the next version
It's the fault of Catalyst AI in the ATI drivers, it's always been buggy, more so with the Doom3 engine. Turn it off in the ATI control panel.
EDIT: Also Trunks told you to do this in post #6 lol. Could have had this fixed this morning at 5 AM. Well at least it's working now.
-
Hi, thanks for your replies! So this may help:
Seems like the resolution is not 1920x1080, but 1080x1920! I made 2 screens of this.
FOV changes didn't helpout, so both screens are made with fov 90.
hmmm, something weird is going on there, just looking at the aliasing, there's no way that's actually running at 1920x1080. Make sure Catalyst AI is turned off, and turn off all bloom settings and take another screenshot for us.

It says r_aspectratio = 0
Just a question, do we talk about the base/doomconfig or a mission specific one? I assmued that we talk about the one in the base folder.
Alright to avoid confusion, go into the game, start a mission (doesn't matter which), open the console and type:
r_customWidth and hit enter and see what it says. Same thing for all the other cvars.
-
Make sure r_customWidth is set to 1920 and r_customHeight is set to 1080. Also make sure r_mode is set to -1. That will require a vid_restart if you do it in game.
But the in game res selection should have worked
-
When I first set a 4:3 resolution and then go back to 16:9 it works for me. But it seems like some of the upper screen is cut out (my bow shooting center isnt the center of the screen).
I guess I'll just have to play on some lower 4:3 resolution..
(edit: native screen resolution is 1920:1080)
Try cg_fov 100

its natural scale of this texture
Which means nothing as that's probably the natural scale of the picture taken that was the basis of the texture. Use your head and judge the scale for yourself; it's too big but if that's the way you like it then no biggie.
EDIT: Actually looking at that picture more closely, as long as that's an outside wall, like on a fortress, then the scale would be correct. They would use large stones like that.

Is it up yet?

Just finished it for the first time, great fun!
