My Vista system doesn't even boot at the moment. It just goes to a black screen with a mouse pointer and nothing else (no matter what combination of "Safe Mode" boot options are selected). What a bag of shit.
It's not that Linux systems never suffer from boot problems either, but at least there is some possibility of diagnosing the problem, booting in text mode or whatever. In Windows it's just "Something's wrong, I won't tell you what, tough shit."
Have you inserted the installation disk and allowed windows to do a Start Up repair? If not, DO IT.
Actually as it happens, my major problem is that my Dell machine didn't (as far as I can tell) come with a Vista installation disk, meaning I can't even boot from the CD to repair or reinstall the operating system, so this might actually be useful. Is it fully licensed and legal[1], and will work on another machine?
[1] In the sense of not being pirated; I know that MS sometimes try to restrict transferability as well.
Any Vista disk will work, just download a pirated copy you aren't installing it you're just repairing the install. Also I agree with you on that, I HATE it that DELL et al don't offer repair disks anymore, you have to ask for them at POS and usually pay money for them to boot.

I wish I could say more than this, but:
There is not anything I like about Vista or W7. It's Balmer's (is that the goofball's name?) baby to me and that is worse than Gates. I don't know how with the small victory of people and industry managing to unite in an FU to Vista the same didn't apply to W7; it should have. Fucking restrictive-unfriendly-bloatsystem-you' ve-fixed-nought-andonly-fucked-up-heaps nonsense.
I'm really not intending to be a smartass here but, roll "back" to XP SP3, Fidcal. If you can. You say you hate helpful "software", well you are mired in the most obnoxious example of it ever produced. Save yourself! Get out!
LOL wow, Vista hater. Win7 > XP in almost every way. Every machine that I've clean booted with Win 7 has run better than XP ever did. Also all that "restrictive nonsense" should have been implemented in XP when it came out. Full driver signing support, UAC (better compromise than Vista), better memory management, better critical memory isolation etc etc etc, too many to mention. Anyone who hates Win7 has not given it a chance other than saying "Waaaaaaa my 10 year old games/programs don't work in Windows 7 IT SUCKS
" are morons.I've personally used all three of these OSes for years and still have Vista on one of the computers here in the office. XP is the last OS I'd want to use, it's buggy, it's a mess of DLLs (DLL Hell).
XP has been around for almost a decade now, of course people are going to know the ins and outs of the OS better than the new ones.
Use the new one till you are used to it, also Win7's GUI is >>>>>>>>>>>> than XP's. I can get anywhere I want in the OS just by typing a few things in the search box in the start menu. This one feature alone is amazingly useful.
Man I could go on and on about it, but I'll stop here. This is my opinion based on experience troubleshooting several OSes, and in that time it's clear to me that Win 7 stands head and shoulders above XP in almost every way.

Oh I see, Doom 3 may not like that resolution. Try something more standard like 2048x1536, or 1920x1200. That is a 16:10 ratio, but it may be too high. I`ve never gone above 3000, so I can`t say for sure.

I tried to take high resolution screenshots, but it does not work. The images have the specified size indeed, but the renderview is still cropped to screen resolution. Does it work when fullscreen?
The renderview (if I am understanding you correctly) is limited only to the resolution of your screen. If you increase your in-game resolution past your screen resolution, you will only see a portion of the game, which would be the top-left corner.
For example in this image:
If your monitor runs at 1600x1200, but you want to play at 1920x1200 or higher, you would only see the top left side of the game. That is why you can take screenshots at higher res than your monitor can support.

PS I just open training mission in DR and fall from the chair when I seen nothing exept caulk brush in floor of archery training area(where stone and grass blended) same thing in NHAT 3 in forest area
He answered your question though, you can't apply two textures to one patch.

I actually like the banding, adds character. The banding is most likely related to rounding errors in the calculations in the renderer not something we can fix.

That's also my point of view as regards to spark interest with screenies and other info goodies.
(not speaking about trolls) a forum deepen an experience seeing and sharing people's thoughts (among other things) ... It rarely draw in new people not hooked before.
The question isn't distinct as ocn said: so... not necessarily if you speak about TDM shots for promotion Noisycricket. Also no for released FM's moments. I think these are more easy to find in the belonging FM thread. but of course yeah if it's about off-topic chatter for of any other screenies.
Yeah I've already given hundreds of excellent quality screenshots for Moddb so those for sure should be on our site.

I thought this was about TDM. I read "creating interest" and "drawing in new players". If that's true then I vote yes. If it's about posting anything then no, that's Off-Topic.
If there's a thread named "TDM screenshots" then I think I would rather click on that to see what's going on than dig through a WIP thread.
The poll is a little unclear.
Screenshot: type screenshot followed by desired resolution (eg. screenshot 1920 1080)
Or better yet type:
bind F12 sreenshot <width> <height>
That way you only have to hit F12.

Great, this is the last fucking thing that we need is members leaving because of some stupid argument. The mushroom models themselves look like crap, the work involved in the map is incredible. The mushroom modem/textures is not the fault of the map maker, unless he made them of course.
So let's get our hands dirty and start working on the mushrooms and stop putting each other down mkay? Merry Christmas

Yes, the mines are due for tweaking. There is already an internal discussion about them. They only go off when the enemy actually touches it, but there has been a suggestion (among others) to make them proximity triggered. There won't be any changes to them in 1.03 however, sorry.
I was thinking about this also, in Thief they were prox mines, but how does that work really? I think that most players would expect them to be proximity mines (me included)

I just have to wonder, with all the people he's pissed off with his 1/5 voting for all categories, how many of us are going to rate it a 1 no matter how good it is?
