Btw. If you have an installation where your system folders are separated from your home folder and maybe also other game folders like Steam and Gog, remember that all the future missions of TDM are now still installed in your system storage instead of your specified home/games storage.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood. Good to know how it works here.

Why didn't you place this in the beta testing section? https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/forum/59-tdm-mission-beta-testing/
Btw. I think it's a shame there aren't larger (like giant)

No, guards are not programmed to see shadows as it creates far too many ungair gameplay issues.
Well I could see this as an interesting dificulty setting, if coupled with clever level design.

I recommend you to install the official way. This installs just fine. I am using an Arch based distro like you.
I wonder why this AUR package is even made..

Another picture hosting site:
Max upload of 1000 pictures a month for free. Site is not https, interface is outdated.
Edit: Cannot really recommend it. Some functionality is still based on Flash, which doesn't work. If you want to upload a series of images's at ones, that can only be done via e-mail (send a bunch of images to a specific e-mail address and they will be uploaded). It used to be really good.

Not sure if this is relevant or related, but can guards see shadows? Maybe there is a shadow of the player still visible?

The training mission + tutorial missions are included in the install, no?

Do you have inverted / "natural" scrolling activated in your desktop environment?
No, the setting reverse scroll direction is there, but is deactivated.
Don't know if it helps, but if I go to settings, try to change settings for prev. and next weapon it does detect a scroll up or scroll down from my mouse correctly.
-
Nice, Alt-tab now works. and my second monitor stays on. As said before first start correctly detects proper monitor resolution.
When doing Alt-Tab game keeps running in the background.Previous/next weapon change via mouse wheel seems reversed..
Tested on Manjaro Linux (Arch based distro) xfce.

There were plans. You can read some info why it hasn't been done here:
the posts under there.

With larger topics there is a summery sidebar on the right. I find it not very useful, so I use this code to remove it from view:
/* disable forum posts sidebar */ #ipsLayout_sidebar { display: none; }
This makes the forum-posts section wider and thus (i.m.o.) easier to read.

Is there any protocol for gabbing about what one has discovered, when experimenting with getting something to work in TDM? I guess so long as I'm polite, people aren't forced to read it...
I was answering this question, but I see that my post wasn't helpfull to you.
-
I guess it doesn't hurt, but it's not really a post where you ask for help, so I would say this isn't the correct topic and you would possibly not get the correct feedback. Create a new topic if you want to discuss this further.
Edit 22 dec: Reading it now, this is actually kind of a weird post I did back then.

Did you try monitoring hardware during playback to see if something strange is happening at the moment the black block appears?
Here's a thread from someone with a similar problem with the same GPU:

I think this is also the case in The Tears of St. Lucia at least in the area with the sculpture.
-
This was already in Win Xp maybe before that.. (maybe it came from MS Bob)
I think virusses or Trojans have actually used this feature in the past.
Edit:
This is a quote under one of the video's from Springheel:
QuoteI had the same problem. I found it's the darkmod.txt file extension. My file was darkmod.txt but for the other FMs, it's just "darkmod" without the .txt. Remove the redundant extension and it should work. Even if it doesn't, you can still access your map anyway (I did,) you just need to type more: dmap workshop/man1 and map workshop/man1 rather than just dmap man1 and map man1.
I think this is probably the same issue, but this guy didn't learn the cause and he's not alone probably.

I think this setting usually does more harm than good.

I think that when a game looks outdated it needs to have certain style and/or originality to be relevant. I don't see this in the video..

@datiswousyeah that's just a non-frobable pouch, it's not loot. Not everything in a container needs to be something interactable. However, if you look closely there IS some loot in that room....
Too late, I just finished it, but got only 3.5 thousand loot and I think only 3 out of 5 secrets. In the end it was not so difficult to get to the manor when you know what can be successfully mantled.. I never found that secondary entrance.. (so I have to try again sometime). I love the story (including everything in the diaries and letters) and some of the scenery is really atmospheric. Also the video's look really professional.

@datiswous, not quite sure where that "purse" is, but I can see from the screenshot that it is not a coin purse. It looks to be one of those tobacco pouches, possibly?
Yeah maybe. It's just that this is not clear that it's a tobacco pouch and so I keep hunting for a possible light-up so that I can grab it. I mean it looks like an object in a box so logically I should be able to grab it.
SpoilerIt's the middle room downstairs:
Maybe in a future update someone could do something about this save. Looks a bit unrealistic. I think the painting should be blocked from sliding up when the save is open:
Almost everything else looks really clean though.

Btw. Shouldn't this be listed under Arts Assets forum category?
Quoteand the forum search is terrible IMO (and I've seen plenty of others say the same)
Ah, I'm glad I am not alone in this.

Long term, it would be good if TDM had a more formal and maintained way to know who to contact for FM release... there is an @admin contact, but is that the right way to go, given there are many types of admin (forum, db, wiki, FM release, source, art assets) ?
Like a website form on the site. A forum topic only for submission requests that the Admins who usually upload missions all track would also work probably. A request topic for Wiki edits is maybe also an idea. I'm actually missing a whole forum/website/wiki feedback section.
