Upskirt Cam!

Testing out something with mirrors a bit today, I looked down on a mirror I was standing on and noticed that Doomguy has even the soles of his boots modelled and well textured. TDM AI models so far are largely "optimized" to remove normally unseen polygons. However, this doesn't really work in a Thiefy game, where close attention is paid to slow moving AI which are frequently incapacitated. Back/insides of armor, up dresses (hence the title ^_^), and other easily seen spots show through as invisible...

Just raising a concern. Can/will these empty spots be filled in?

Yeah I already raised this issue regarding the noblewoman.

Even if a modeller leaves some holes, the model will be under close inspection by me when I'm animating, so I won't let it slip by.

Also I think I will require every robed/dressed person to have legs fully modled and rigged. I don't think I can make a convincing walk cycle without actual legs, just like I draw the figure before layering clothes on top when illustrating. Plus i can't see how the ragdoll will behave convincingly without fully modelled legs.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
