Motion Builder + 8800 GTS = playback issues

Does anyone have Motionbuilder running in XP with an 8800 GTS type of card?

I've got myself a new rig with an 8800 GTS but the current nvidia drivers screw up the realtime playback  It skips a few frames ahead when playing in 24 fps (or whatever speed). When playing animations with the show "ALL FRAMES" option it does like it says play all frames but that's of course too fast.

i read on some cg forums that it's a general problem with the current 7XXX en 8XXX series and autodesk is apparently working on this issue. So be warned

I don't have the problem with 8800gtx on vista 64, so it must be limited to xp.

For all the wary vista haters out there, I've had no issues with vista, and not a single crash or blue screen since I installed it 3-4 months ago. I originally made a dual boot of vista32 and 64, but have since deleted the 32 partition, since I never need to use it.

k.. thx for mentioning. Probably only related to XP then. I personally haven't got any reason to install vista yet, most programs i use run fine and seeing the newer games struggle with dx10 makes me wanna wait till new service packs & (graphics) hardware are released.

I can still check the anims thru viewport renders and using ALL FR option although i hope autodesk comes with a solution soon.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
