Any Role Playing Elements

I was wondering if you guys were planning on adding any role playing elements into either your FM or add support in your tools. I am a big RPG fan and I don't want to see a Thief RPG, but I think it would be cool to add a few RPG elements.

 

I really liked TDS where you gained a few extra abilities over the course of the game and I really liked the idea of joining factions with some optional tasks you could accomplish for them (although I thought the implementation was a bit weak and I wish they'd have taken it farther).

 

I certainly wouldn't want to see something like experience points added to the game.

 

I'm just curious what the thoughts and opinions are on this for the other folks here. What do you guys think about the TDS features?

Personally, I don't mind RPG's, in fact, I love Morrowind, but not that much cos of the RPG stuff. I reckon it did'nt work in it. But nonetheless, personally, I would'nt want any RPG elements in Thief. Don't take it wrong, it's just that I did'nt like the pretentious "gaining of skills" in Thief : DS. So I would therefore vote against having any RPG elements in our Campaign, however, I would'nt go as far to remove all possibilities of it being in FM's. I think it's possible anyway. I'm not about to go and stop the addition of RPG elements into the toolset, but I would'nt want it in our campaign. Though again, this is what I feel personally, the rest of the team may feel otherwise .

Well I 'd love an RPG where the thief class didn't get the shit end of the stick (roll on Oblivion) but the Dark Mod definitely isn't going to be it)

The only RPG that happens in is D&D (the real game, not the video game versions). No one cares about theives.

Our Mod is actually a huge RPG multiplayer game. You can choose to be either a Thief, Guard, Hammerite, Mage, Pagan or Mechanist. The moderators will be all powerful Keepers. You can play it online, but we'll charge you a tenner a month and the server will be so busy half the time you'll have to queue to get on.
