Anyone played this yet?

 

The HDRI does not really work on my Radeon 9800 but it looks nice in Bloom mode. There were also some nice shiny effects on some materials - I guess this would be available through the gloss map mod in D3.

 

Pity it was so short though, the outdoor environments in Source look really nice.

The HDR only looked 'good' at one one point, when you were in the church. Other than that, it was waaaay overdone, wiht the entire screen almost going white when you step into the sun. Yeah, our eyes adjust to light, but not this extremely.

 

Odd that your 9800 couldn't run HDR too well, my 9700 pro did fine for the most part other than in the church, then it got choppy.

I meant it did not look very good, not that it was too slow. I found that the light in the sky seemed to expand and contract in a very unconvincing manner as I looked around, although perhaps this was how it was meant to look.
