  1. Sorry, I just found the server being unresponsive this morning (CET). It turns out that the VPS node was turned off. I'm still investigating the cause, but as I started to get a few SQL errors yesterday it seems I may have to recompile Apache as the current version has a bug in it that may cause high load issues. By the way, planning a major upgrade to both the forum software and the Wiki very soon. Will update you guys on the plans once I have a date I have time to complete it.
  2. I don't have words... I was shocked when this happened on Friday, and even more shocked when I woke up on Saturday when the National news claimed 80+ deaths. Including young people and even children. I'm visiting Utøya sometime the next few days to lay down flowers and show my respect for the killed, wounded and affected. I'm proud to be a Norwegian as well, to see how we all stay together with love for each other in such troubled times. Oslo is covered in flowers. RIP
  3. A home PC would be quite more slow than this. It's actaully hosted on my Virtual private Server in a data centre in US. During early mornings in UK the server is set to perform a full account backup, which will slow things down. Not sure what's going on with your packet loss tho, Bikerdude. I'm located in Norway and haven't experienced anything like it.
  4. Same here, the last decade I've been dependent upon Opera, and the browser has come a long way. I simply love the fact that they've hidden a lot of the 'bloat', the browser now looks quite minimalistic upon new installation. Here's to Opera!
  5. It is viewable in all sections as it is located in the footer, which is always displayed. Having the link at top or at the bottom is rather a question about taste, not really functionality.
  6. I just completed upgrading the forums to the latest version which seems to have fixed the issue.
  7. I applied a security patch yesterday, seems to have broken something. Looking into it.
  8. Nope... Not possible. And the only dark color missing is the black background-color outside of the forum frame. I think?
  9. Yes, a hard refresh probably doesn't work it seems. Try to empty your cache.
  10. Thedarkmod.com doesn't have a favicon, and the current favicon on the forums and the wiki is from my site: http://modetwo.net/favicon.ico But sure, if someone comes up with a cool favicon, I'll add it.
  11. I can confirm the same, all smilies are displayed correctly.
  12. Yeah, it made no sense until I found that bug report.
  13. There, temporary walkaround has been added. You NEED to refresh your cached js-scripts for the fix to work (Ctrl+F5 in Firefox on this page). Fix is confirmed and working.
  14. This is a reported IPB issue/bug: http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=18311
  15. Yes, I can replicate the problem on Firefox 3.5.3. I guess this is a known IPB/FF bug, gotta check for a workaround.
  16. Have you guys tried to empty your browser cache? No problems in Opera.
  17. Oh, right. On the search page you can just click on the thread title - it should bring you to the first unread post.
  18. The upgrade was necessary to keep the forums safe and secure from scriptkiddies and other scum as the software was outdated, and it was also a measure to fight spam bots as this version supports a new way of checking and handling such accounts and threads. I guess you weren't around when the 'oh so lame hacking-incident' happened years ago. So, explain this to me... You wouldn't be mad if I had asked in advance? Yeah, right - I think you'd be complaining then too! I'm really glad you have real-life commitments like everyone else, but why do you keep saying the forum's broken? I can't really see anyone else than you complaining about the layout, spacing, 'px vs em' etc - it's nice to be different and not just going with the flow, but maybe you should reconsider in this matter as it seems no-one cares or actually agrees with you? The color scheme is a different story - either you like it, or you don't. Most of the colors in the current scheme are actually picked up from the old design. I've also tweaked the colors more to rule out 'hard to read' text and links. By the way, no need to act rude. I host these forums for free, and it sure ain't free to me as I have to pay for both the server AND for software updates. I can of course take criticism as I guess you can too, but it should be a bit constructive at least. What you are doing now is just looking like a crybaby who lost his precious toy because the evil 'modetwo' took it and replaced it with a new and more functional one. FYI; the toy ain't yours alone... PS: You're welcome to use the Lo-Fi templates at any time.
