Am I the only one who sees some similarity between the Builders/Hammerites and the government of Iran? Both torture prisoners horribly for quite minor offences, both have a 'moral police' that patrol the city at night, both are contemptuous of women... And to clinch it all, at the geographical centre of their faith muslims have a giant stone which they worship! One could see their latest technological strides as a push for Mechanist-like power. (if only the West's environmental policies were more like the pagans)

Contender for most patronising message 2006/07? Last time I checked, you had to be an adult to drink, and bars up and down the country are absolutely heaving with adults every weekend. This mythological 'adult world' you occupy seems to exist on a different dimensional plane to the rest of us.

So it's wrong to enjoy things other people also enjoy? Every pleasure needs to be unique to qualify for you? Getting pissed is a millenia old tried and tested way of having fun, and has contributed so much to our history and cultures.

I recommend that you read something you don't already like of a genre you are unfamiliar with. There's nothing worse than getting bored of something then realising that was the only interest you had.

It's worth considering that all the information and advice needed to create fan missions will be on this forum, since this is where the people who have made the mod and understand how it works hang out. It's also worth considering that non-thief fans who discover the Dark Mod are much more likely to come to this forum than TTLG, especially since 1.) this is the official site and first google hit for 'Dark Mod', 2.) TTLG or LGS don't really have anything to do with the Dark Mod, unless they want to retitle themselves Sneaky-Games-R'-Us, 3.) TTLG is an unwelcoming and intimidating forum for new members. HI didn't fail because it wasn't given a forum, but the all round lack of attention given to it on the TTLG news website and forum, as the premier sources of Thief information, certainly didn't help. They managed to hype T2X and COSAS to the moon and back, so surely they could have spared a few mentions for HI. The sole reason for doing so seemed to be their personal dislike for one of the team leaders.

It's their forum so they can do what they want. The admins don't have a responsibility to their 'guests', they're only in it to boost their own egos after all. But personally I'm glad TTLG is going down the drain - it's about time the Thief community 'shed its skin'. A few people in a small clique have had a monopoly on the thief fan community for too long. It's telling that the more creative 'outside' projects like the Dark Mod don't even get a forum there - the admins are only interested in the projects they and their chums are making. As a consequence some projects have been parched of fan community interest and have withered on the vine (Hammerite Imperium, for example). TTLG did its job, but now it's time for the old guard to move over.

College is all about fun and laying in bed with a hangover, so you'd be better off trying to do something productive before you go.

That bit with the blackjack and the flash of lightning was very clever. I think you were a bit too ambitious, however! It's much easier to write a TV script then sell it to a production company than do it all yourself.
