I have Act 3 almost done, it is very very far along. It's been through many iterations, but so far this year I haven't had much personal free time to work on my map which is why it's so delayed. My hope was to have it already released, but yeah life has a way of distracting us.
I'm going to be buying a laptop next month, and I will rent a hotel room and lock myself in it, away from the distractions of the world to get this done!
Act 4 is also very far along too, so if I can get some free time after act 3 is out, I am hoping to get them out relatively close together.
And just as a very special treat... here's the briefing video for act 3 (but shhh don't tell anyone!)

Here are subtitles. I tested them while playing and finished the mission. Maybe you could check for spelling, etc.? You could include them when you fix the previously mentioned briefing bug.
Edit: I didn't include the Hemsworth barks ( sound/voices/hemsworth ), because they aren't story related and they have tdm_ in front of the name, so I thought they overwrite core files anyway, but I'm not sure. I can still add them if needed.
I was studying German at the time, so just included it for fun

Moving forward I will be releasing subtitles with all of my missions. As for existing missions, if people want to add them that's fine with me. I'd prefer to verify it's accurate of course first but yeah.

I experimented with using AI voices as a placeholder before I asked human actors to do the lines. There are still morality and copyright questions regarding AI voice usage, but that aside, I just find the technology isn't there yet.
Here is a comparison from a Builder sermon scene I have in Shadows of Northdale Act 3.
This is an AI voice I used for the scene originally as a placeholder
And this was the final human voice acted version
In my opinion the human version is infinitely better than the AI generated one. The human voice sounds much more natural, plus there are nuances and inflections the voice actor can bring to the script which can change it in ways that an AI voice can't. Additionally, some voice actors i've worked with will go off script or offer alternative versions, some of which end up being used (a couple of improv lines that AndrosTheOxen used for the shopkeeper in Noble Affairs we're featured in the final game).

This is the opening scene in Shadows of Northdale Act 3.
Sometimes I like to take a break after finishing a scene and just take it in. This scene was inspired by the calm and comfy feeling I felt when I first played @Moonbo's A House of Locked Secrets mission, in particular that first scene with the beautiful scenery and calming ambient. Right before diving into one of the best Dark Mod missions.

I scrapped the earlier version I had and restarted the mission. I am aiming to release Act 3 between fall 24 to spring 25.
I know it's been a super long wait, but campaigns are hard!

My release schedule and mission layout changes quite a lot as I figure out where the pieces of my mapping puzzle lands. And damn campaigns are hard!
So to provide a small update, I am aiming to release Shadows of Northdale Act 3 between fall 24 and spring 25. I'm working on it right now, and very happy with a layout/flow I currently have. After Act 3 is out... who knows what the future holds

I can understand your frustrations, however the main reason why we have had to replace the core files is because we don’t have the ability to make tweaks to the core game without doing this.
In particular having the bow speed reduced from 6 seconds to 3 feels a lot better ingame. And it’s something that I personally have in all of my missions since I saw it in Kingsal’s mission the first time.
If it’s possible for us to tweak that variable without needing to replace the .script file that would be really handy.

Because the default script doesn’t feel as smooth as Kingsal’s tweaked one.
I believe the main advantage is as Amadeus mentioned a 3 second bow draw time vs 6 seconds which feels a lot better.
I’m not completely married to the idea of this but if you’re able to integrate the ability for us to customize this without replacing the core files that would be appreciated.

Thank you for bringing this up! I’ll look into it and see if I can find a solution.
There are a few bugs with this mission that I need to resolve so it’s a bit overdue for some fine tuning.

Anyone know what it might be?
I just setup a fresh out of the box, Windows 11 64bit laptop. I have downloaded all of the windows updates, installed TDM (which works) but when I downloaded DR 3.9.0 and ran it... I got the below error.
I tried uninstalling it, and tried the portable version with the same result. I couldn't see any .log files in the DR directory either. There's no error code, and Google doesn't help too much.
