Going from DarkRadiant to Trenchbroom feels like a big step back. It's great at geometry (prevents invalid brushes and vertex drifting like no other), but... that's about all. It's terribly underdeveloped. So far behind on so many things...
Unfortunately it seems to be the only option for my Godot projects, as editors like DR and Hammer are too tied to the engines/games they were made for. (Hammer probably even has a license wall or something, anyway.)
Sorry, just needed to let this out.

Well, on one hand because DR is extremely tied to TDM. On the other hand I'm not sure Godot's map importers would recognize DR's map format (which is probably Doom3, but I'm not sure if it isn't modified, and I don't think they support doom3 format anyway).
Perhaps the best option -- if I could get along with C++ -- would be to fork DR and adapt it.
NetRadiant-Custom isn't tied to any particular engine, and that's why it seems viable to me. Although it's still heavily aimed at quake/doom family of engines.

Well DR supports Q3 map format afaik.

(I don't know if it's of help, because I don't know enough about the subject, just in case it is useful).
Edit: I don't know if this is the correct topic about this. But it does have Q3 game mode:
So you say netradiant is tied to Unvanquished?
It says it's for multiple engines and is more up to date afaik than NetRadiant-Custom, acording to this page: https://wiki.unvanquished.net/wiki/Tools/Level_editors (but maybe that's only related to Unvanquished)

Hmm, I did completely forget DR had other game modes there. I could give it a try. I'm not sure Godot's importers support more than one map format, though, and I'll be in luck if it's one of the ones supported by DR.

No, I didn't say anything at all about NR. I said NRC is not tied to any particular engine, though it's still heavily aimed at quake/doom engines. That NRC is not tied to any engine is the very reason why I'm giving it a try.
