  1. I'm wondering about that, too...
  2. Saw the original Solaris recently, liked it, but still concluded "Stalker" was the better Tarkovsky film. I don't really have any deep insight into the meaning of either film; perhaps I'm just dense. Or maybe the idea is to make you think, come up with your own interpretation. I think a lot of great art keeps it open-ended. I don't need layers of subtext or extreme complexity, or at least, I can't stand that style in literature. Great art just needs to evoke a certain mood, or a certain aesthetic, and to do so effectively. Hopefully "Pathologic" has this certain thing I'm looking for.
  3. Nah man, I want dat Thie5...
  4. Try not! Do, or do not...
  5. I've been wanting to try this game for a while now. I like "Russian Expressionism" with all its uncalibrated weirdness and macabre sensibility. Seems like this title strikes the boxes for that The question.. which version to try? Is it worth waiting for the new remake (from the same company, no less!) or is the remaster on GOG the way to go? There is a pre-release demo available for the remake, but quite surprisingly, I don't think I hit the system requirements. (I have a GTX 660 and just 8 GB RAM, etc.)
  6. As they say, the best missions are the ones you can visualize, but haven't made. (A lot of us have great imagination, but lack the executive ability to get it done)
  7. Thanks for the welcome, Destined, as well as Judith.. (that's cool that we also have lasses, in what I imagine is a sea of lads!) I'm not really sure yet what I can bring to the community, I'm something of an aspiring artist, who isn't really adept at figure drawing as yet. I'm greatly inspired by the artistic value in TDM, and I think renderings based on the screenshots, is good practice. Probably of limited or "no" real utility for TDM community, though. But, I'm inspired, and that's at least something, eh? Perhaps it will lead to mapping down the line, mayhaps not. -Carlton Troisi
  8. I wonder if that applies to all... For instance, I tend to feel not so bright as I go through the forum, reading about the inner-workings of this great TDM game, and feel as if it's beyond my capacity. That said, I've never mapped anything before--not even once--but the sign of a good learner is being able to understand some things BEFORE you get in there and try it yourself. And I don't understand very much. Yes, I watched some of the tutorial videos--I get the basic concept of things--but it all looks very laborious, with far too many variables to keep track of!
