  1. Apart from low game settings and tweaks, it should be remembered that if it is Windows, that by default it loads a lot of services that are not necessary, such as drivers for peripherals that do not exist and certain services such as the ability to Hibernate and Index files, among others. Disabling these services can drain a lot of RAM and speed up the system considerably.
Especially Hibernate and Indexing are real RAM and speed eaters.

Years ago I have played TDM and DOOM III in a low end PC, without problems of any kind, naturally in a minimal settings.
It is always preferable to optimize the OS, than to have to do DIY in the game itself, this should only be the last option.

I was bored and tried searching for the image, but an image search using both Google and Bing failed to find anything directly matching it. It could be a developmental image that's on a site that's not being crawled by search engines or blocked because it's only open to donators/fundraisers. I even tried looking at many screenshots of various retro-flavored games but still nothing.

There's some similar-looking retro stealth games in development, but not a single one has that distinct lighting icon at the bottom left that would confirm it.

This is the problem, and it is not for lack of image search engines that I have

Edit: The closest I have found is this one

    Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

    EZFvrBJ.jpg

The Clancy's Splinter Cell series also fits the Stealth genre

  3. Difficult to determine with a loose image. The best thing you can do is search for the image on Google, Bing, Startpage or the search engine you use (they will only show you similar images) and look at the results if you recognize any more images which there appear.

  4. Thanks, when you can. It is a great mission and among my favorites. The mission as such works flawless, only it fails in the end after the credits

For if it's useful, in case the cause depends on my system, I add the specifications.

    Laptop Lenovo V145 15AST

    Win10 64 build 1909

    CPU
    AMD A9-9425 RADEON R5, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G 2 Cores -3,1 GHz - 8Gb

    GPU1
    AMD Radeon(TM) R5 Graphics
    Principal/Integrado/Híbrido - 1Gb

    GPU2
    Radeon(TM) 530
    Discreto/Híbrido - 2Gb

  5. A mission that I really like and that invites me to replay it, always finding new details. But when playing it again this time in 2.09 I had a strange failure at the end, after being on the train, with the credits, at the end of these, instead of going to the menu of the finished mission and the statistics, I find a screen completely black, although I was allowed to move and even the footsteps could be heard, but nothing was seen.
I had to leave the mission, unable to finish it.

In both Chrome and Firefox you can press the F12 key. Then you get a hover over page where you can change html and css of the current active page and you can directly see how it looks, but not save it. If you're happy with the applied code changes, you can use Stylus plugin to save the changes for that website specific (copy over the code changes). The code from Stylus overides the default website styles. Every time you load that website these changes are applied. At least this is how I do it.

Same in Vivaldi, F12 open the dev tools, but apart from this and flags, in Vivaldi you have a Page actions Menu

    vFkmrvu.png

and you can add a CSS file directly in the settings page

    zMTV6HK.png

I can use Chrome extensions, but most of them in Vivaldi are redundant

Try to put f.Exmpl the Chrome Store in Dark Theme with Stylus, Vivaldi can do it, also in Mobile

  7. It would be something strange but possible in Vivaldii, since it has as its background and theme the desktop of the OS optional, but it supports any other configuration, you even have the possibility to directly enter CSS codes, if the configuration is not enough. It is a very addictive browser and very different from any other.

You have the light theme applied with some darkening browser plugin?

I am using Dark Mode in the browser Flags, this give the dark filter, if it need in every page, include Google Store. Apart of this, Vivaldi, the browser I use, has a invert filter among others in the page actions menu. I have also the Dark Reader extension, but only for ajust the light and contrast level, not realy needed.

    Flags setting

vivaldi://flags (or chrome://flags if you use Chrome) in the adressbar>Enter and in the page search Dark Mode

Restart the browser and you have dark theme in every page (if they don't have it as default, it is irrelevant, always appears in dark theme).

  9. I did not experience any problems or bugs in the mission, everything worked as expected.
Regarding the weapons and arrows, since there is only a single zombie and apart from this nothing that can endanger life (except for an accidental fall), I also think that it can be left to a minimum (lockpicks and something to remove the zombie from the middle)

The safe with the static treasures: another player found this bug too. It seems to be intermittent - it works for most players. Try closing the safe and opening it, that might fix it.

    Spoiler

This sometimes happens in other missions as well, not only in safes, but also in cabinets and boxes. At least for me, closing and reopening the lid has always solved the problem.

  11. I played it again yesterday and I think the atmosphere is quite successful, the only thing I don't like so much is that after picking up the artifact, the game is over, although the way to the exit is quite long through the tunnels and the Sewer , without further incidents or ghosts (well, the little scare apart) and without the possibility of returning to the mansion. I think maybe it would have been better to finish when he gets back in the boat, just like he puts on the to-do list.
    Otherwise a very good mission

  12. Similar to Audiotool is the Crossplatform Desktop app LMMS (FOSS)

    Sample recources

The Freesound Project is a collaborative database of Creative Commons licensed sounds. Freesound focuses only on sound, not songs. This is what sets freesound apart from other splendid libraries like ccMixter.

Vocal & A-Capella samples - some of the singers request that you contact them first, if you plan on using their voices for commercial projects.

Free Sample Packs gives links to many different sample packs, mostly royalty free.

Soundbible contains royalty free noises and sound FXs.

Fruitytuts gives a lot of samples, instruments, soundfonts and other musical resources for free.

Hyperreal has a library of classic synth and drum synth sounds.

This article on Musicradar lists tens of links to sample packs with hundreds of sound each. All royalty free.

Freepats is a project dedicated to creating a free and open set of instrument patches, in any format, that can be used with softsynths.

GeneralUser GS is a GM and GS compatible SoundFont bank for composing or playing MIDI files.

Percussion-SF @ ArachnoSoft has some nice sf2 for special percussion.

  13. Another possibility to obtain free-to-use soundtracks is to mix it yourself, which is relatively easy with this online application, works direct in your browser. It's free (registration required) and very complete with a library of 250.000 samples. All mixes are by definition the property of their creator, who can use them freely.

If you like this kind of stuff you should look into the Russian space simulator called „Space Engine”.

    http://spaceengine.org/

It is a beautiful program, although since it is on Steam, € 29 for this is somewhat exaggerated.
Something similar is Gaia Sky, a space exploring program, published by the ESA as FOSS, or also the well-known Celestia, also FOSS.

Another FOSS alternative is Cosmonium, but still in beta, only visitable the Solar System.

But all of this are only exploration programms, if you want a  game, there is also Pioneer, a space adventure in te 33rd century or Oolite, they are FOSS too.

Oh for sure I never said I finished the mission in 5 minutes or anything like that. I found it funny I managed to stumble on him by accident though.

Well, there are also small missions that can be completed in half an hour or less, for example Spring Cleaning, although the difficulty does not necessarily depend on the size of the mission. This is also what I like TDM, there are missions for a weekend but also for a free time in between.

So this made me literally laugh out loud.

Long time Thief fan having played the original demo in 1998 but I mostly lurk. I had to come share this with you guys since you are the only people who would appreciate this. I just started playing this tonight:

So I loaded up the mission and was just relaxing and taking it in. I wasn't looking at my map, just wandering around and going down alleys and such. I happened too see a ventilation duct above a staircase so I opened it an went inside, some noble was in front of me so I killed him to shut him up and it was objective complete Marlo is dead. wtf? hahahah I laughed so hard. I was 5 minutes into the mission and managed to find the secret passage that leads to killing the main guy?

Epic. Great mission so far the whole 5 minutes I have played.

Look in the briefing of this mission, this wasn't the main objetive. The main objetive is to rescue the wife of the painter and take her home to her husband. This is impossible in 5 minutes, not even in 5 hours.
