    TTLG

I haven't seen anything posted on here about TTLG, and I know some of you visit over there as well. In case anyone hasn't seen this yet. This was posted in #thief, the site will probably be back up soon, but, in the meantime there is this bit of news. http://web.mac.com/davidcornish/stuff/ttlg.txt
  2. As on TTLG, if they are abandoned, some people fork over the abandoned maps to someone else to finish. That may take awhile, but, eventually, they could see the light of day, if someone were to take on the mission/s.
  3. Same to you too SneaksieDave, and to everyone on the forum, Merry Christmas, have a safe new year.
  4. Thievery is the only multi-player that gave me such an adrenaline rush, my hands would shake after a good game. Leatherman and I ran a server for a couple of years, man the fun we had. No other multi-player game can give me that rush like Thievery can. I pushed myself to get good at it. I was happiest playing a Thief, not too many women would play a Thief. In its hay day, it was awesome, with lots of players. People still do play, just not many anymore, its hit and miss. It does have a steep learning curve, mastering the techniques took time, but, once you did, it was SOO worth it. The AI in thief, hate to say it, can be boring at times. Very predicatble, there was something about playing against a human guard, can you out do them? Sometimes, I failed, sometimes I won. I can black jack the Thief AI with my eyes closed. Playing against real human guards, is challenging, and rewarding. Thievery did have some large maps, Breandor, and another one, I have to look up, I'm at work right now, it was so huge, you needed co-op just to play it. It was TOO big.
  5. What exactly do you mean? Just curious. I found many people that absolutely love the game. Melee combat can be daunting at times, overall the game rocked. Get the proper patches for it, dynamite game.
  6. Not to get sidetracked here. What are some of your favorite horror games? I love Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, awesome game. Great story and the best voice acting. Undying, a sleeper classic.
  7. The thing I wish more authors would do, is learn the art of subtlety. Its not strictly about shocking you endlessly, which gets old after awhile. You learn to expect that. I do at least, very rarely does anything freak me out anymore. We've all gotten desensitized to a degree in gaming, been there, done that scenario. There is one particular TTLG dromed author, DrK, he is a master at it. He is damn good at horror, and damn good at dromed.....period. He's studying to become an architect, so, his building structure and style is top notch. He was the reason I went back to playing FM's again, I dropped out of playing for a few years, one mission in particular, let me just say, it made both Leatherman and myself say, "Oh shit!" Slow build up of music, a surprise thrown in. Its the little things that make a good horror mission fun to play, and hard to make, and pull off successfully. I helped him beta test a few times now, I will every time he asks. If anyone hasn't played his Night in Rocksborough series, I highly recommend it. You'll see what I mean. Its horror done right.
  8. The world of Thief has many different characters. Even though I am a fan of horror, why limit the possibilities? I'd get bored after awhile with nothing but horror FM's to play. Or TDM ALL HORROR!! ALL THE TIME!!
  9. That wasn't on the list, I'll see what I can do. /me eyes Leatherman.
  10. Hah, whatever you decide, I just happen to have all that stuff you listed. I'd still love to test though, when the time comes! Maybe another breaking glass sound or two to have, would give you more to choose from.
  11. Komag, sometimes, once in a blue moon, I get to *break* some old crap thats been laying about for ages. Its not worth anything, its junk, somebodies elses treasure that isn't worth crap. I do have some stuff that is worth fixing, that people have abandoned. That will get auctioned off later. I get a real deep sense of satisfaction out of breaking the junk. I take it out to the garbage bin, open the lid, and chuck it inside. I always have to fix it! Let me break it!! I'm serious.....LOL. The only time I get the *willies* is when I do hear a crash, that I am not prepared for. Its like, "Oh Shit" what broke?
  12. I had to laugh at your list. Springheel I don't know if you realize what I do for a living. Hence the name. I repair/restore objects, the list you provided, I have all that stuff. Over the years, some people, and it doesn't happen very often, abandon their objects, I have some old porcelain/marble pieces laying about. I have all kinds of stuff, if you'll give me a little time, I'll see what we can come up with. I have gotten rid of some stuff, I know I have more. I need to go through and see what I have. What about glass breaking? If you are curious. www.brokenarts.com
  13. OK, so NH is going to do the food, you guys need wooden sounds. Falling crate, though I don't happen to have a crate handy, I do have plenty of wood around here. Anything else you guys can think of? An opened creaky creepy sounding door?
  14. Hmmm, it would be interesting to try and make these sounds. LM and I will work on some, see what we can come up with. Anything specific to add, you guys want, let us know. I've done enough recording of voice work over the years, this will be interesting.
  15. Now about those edible sounds........how do they sound? All the same no matter what you eat? Like the crunchy deer legs, and crunchy cheese? Love the update BTW, its awesome!
  16. If something gets broken, I'm not fixing it!! Put those AI in their place!
  17. First time I saw a guard relight a torch, I put out.........BASTARD! I almost got busted. Though, I wasn't surprised.
  18. I mentioned the handwriting early on. I am surprised how many people are having trouble with the sabotage. I'll give a clue.
  19. Welcome to the forum dr_webber. You need to explore more to find everything, the more you explore, it will become clearer. And be sure to read everything! Have to start by asking you, what level are you playing on? It makes a difference in the sabotage. They do plan on releasing more, remember, this is a work in progress, some bugs, and issues, are known. They can't find a work around, as of yet. Post your thoughts later.
  20. You know I like your LeatherMan tool...

  21. Oh Pav, I'm not a day over 98, and you aren't a day over 21! ;)
