TDM 1.07 Missions not storing (Fedora Linux 16)

Great stuff. Really enjoying my foray into the dark side (Linux) but learner/noob issues keep hitting me. -
I just rebuilt my PC to run Fedora Linux 16 and I have successfully installed Doom 3 and TDM 1.07. I start up TDM and try to download all the missions. I manage to get the download to run, it progresses to 100% then starts again. This happens 3 or 4 times then announces that the download failed. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Is it a permissions thing?

I played Dungeons and it's a nice approach but found it simply wasn't DK. Would like to see an updated DK though. Keeping the good stuff and adding something new and fresh to it would be excellent!

Hmmm... I copied over the pk4 files from my steam install which includes Resurrection of Evil. Maybe it's that. Will check. Ta! -
In UK law, you have something like 7 days to try things out before you're pretty much tied into stuff. There are probably exceptions but I think that if you're buying a laptop, you really should know what you're actually buying. If it is faulty, it should be directly exchangeable within the first 12 months. If it is unopened, you should be able to refund fine. I got the order amended automatically. One ordered and one on back order. Expected delivery 15th May for the first one.

I got my email and ordered 2. Then got a message acknowledging the order and telling me that they will be limiting it to 1 per order for now. Aaaargh! I only want 2 (one for me, the other for my step-son)

Getting "Can Not Find TDMLAUNCHER" with Ubunto 11.10 (x64)

I can play Doom 3 absolutely fine but TDM pops up with this when I select a mission and get the message telling me it needs to restart. I looked in the directory and see the FM folder with the correct mission selected but get that message. There are a few others but that seems to be the main one. Any ideas? The Wiki only talks about Windows (which I have working fine) Edit: I did mean to type Ubuntu but it's a typo. If a mod can correct this, it makes me look less of an idiot -
I agree. I'm a professional programmer but if I was working on TDM in my spare time, my employer shouldn't expect to have ownership of TDM because they employ me to program.

The next bioshock game will be on steam (check the coming soon tab) I'd not be surprised to see ME3 coming on there too since there will be uproar if they have to change platforms for the final installment. Sadly, it also means that EA will only be releasing games on Origin in future. It'll mean either longevity or death to them

Can't really disagree with that sentiment. Microsoft used to be pretty crappy when it came to quality. They have really pulled their act together and now I'd say that Windows 7 is the bee's knees in as much as it's stable, reliable and relatively smooth and quick. I haven't had a BSOD on it ever and I'm looking forward to Windows 8 to see how it all moves forward. I hate Macs anyway. It's easy to claim reliability when you only allow a limited set of hardware configurations.

I don't see a C:\Games\Doom3\base\pak000.pk4 which may have the file in. Could you check the CD and copy it into the base folder?

A quick glance tells me that it is looking in the wrong path. I may be wrong but it probably should be C:\Games\Doom 3\base\ not C:\Games\Doom 3\base\Doom 3\base\ Also, TDM may have a few problems with the space in "Doom 3" instead of using "Doom3" Edit: Does Doom 3 run ok before patching? If not, try re-installing with the suggestions I made above (C:\Games\Doom3\)

Some fair points there. I guess it's up to the mapper but maybe 200 words is likely to be the maximum for a readable.

I'm sure you'll be the same but I'm more than happy to write up some readables for someone in that situation as long as they let me know what they want them to say. e.g. a book on the history of Viktoria may need a clue about a certain room the thief may need to visit. Let me know the secret and I'll weave it into a short 500 word story to include in the book

Same here. Spelling and simple grammar errors can be distracting. Understandable from mission makers whose first language isn't English.

The page says $30 or $50 depending on licence chosen. It does look fantastic and any mission would benefit from such awesome work
