Is that the name of your book? I looked up the word and it could easilly mean a 100 different things.

    Young Writers Association?

Maybe you could make some kind of modules that other game designers could use in their game.

  2. I can take the red pill...

    Spoiler

Make a mission. Having some possible features:

    • multiple mission starter points
    • some sort of automap
    • teleportation between areas (why not?)
    • conversation / monologues  (yes: including subtitles)
    • x-ray screen(s)

    Or,

I can take the blue pill...

I just wait for all the wonderful missions created and know I could be one of them, but I choose not to...

  3. Doesn't help. The moment I move to check out an entity and then move back to the Entity list, The mouse click and scroll is locked. I can move it around, but clicking is not possible (I can scroll in firefox for example with the keyboard just fine, so DR clearly takes over the mouse for no reason at all), until the entity list is remade.

  4. I guess what I can do is open the map in a text editor and search for the entity by name, that gives me the entity number. Then I can go to menu Map -> Brush and there typ in the entity nr.

I find it strange that even in DR version 3.8, there seems to be no direct way to search for entities by name. I mean, this should be on top of the list 10 versions ago I would think

  5. Yeah the problem is that the entity list makes DR freeze for a couple of minutes with some extremelly large maps. During the freeze it takes over the mouse, so you can't use it in other applications. With the keyboard I can still do everything outside DR.

Also I cannot copypaste text in the searchbox in the entity list. That gives an error.

The existence of the last, internal-only number has led to some confusion among mappers. I think I used to put whole version numbers into my darkmod.txt (i.e. v2 or v3), but declare a decimal update (i.e. v1.1 or v1.2) on the forum thread and in the readme.txt.

I don't understand that we don't have a requirement on one version nr. type. Currently I would say forget about version numbers, it's super confusing and sometimes even maybe completely untrue, better add a name for the specific update, instead of a number. Also, I don't understand why the internal version nr. has to be a whole number. That is such a bizar limitation.
