hi, the direct mission download is a nice feature but now i have 2 missions double installed and cant get rid of them even with usind the deinstall ingame. i can delete them but im able to reinstall them afterwards.

and now the question about the resolution. i can choose ration 16:9 but there is no possible resolution like 1600x900 which is the native resolution of my laptop. why not?

the laptop looks like each lcd monitor horrible bad in other resolutions than their recommended ones...

For your resolution issue try adding:

seta r_customHeight "900"

seta r_customWidth "1600"

seta r_fullscreen "1"

seta r_aspectRatio "1"

seta r_mode "-1"

To your DoomConfig.cfg

(Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

Because this resolution was only added to the menu recently and should be available in v1.06: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=What%27s_new_in_TDM_1.06

As others wrote, your best bet is to set the values in the console or config file:

seta r_customHeight "900"
seta r_customWidth "1600"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_aspectRatio "1"
seta r_mode "-1"

It should be enough if you set them in the console while TDM is running, quit TDM and restart it, then it should come up ok.

ok im happy if the resolution will be added to the official version of the game.

but what can i do vs the double installed missions which dont allow to be deleted?

it would also be really helpful if this ingame installer could read the exact mission version like 1.2.1 or sth else...

I found deleting both copies of the mission locally, then downloading the one the ingame mission downloader gives you worked for me. To avoid getting double-ups of missions I use the ingame downloader exclusively now.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.
