Hi,

I bought Steam Doom 3 yesterday and the only change I did in D3 was changing the resolution to 1920x1200, which an be done in D3s config file.

I downloaded TDM then, put the stuff in Doom 3\darkmod\ and ran the updater. A few files got updated.

Then I started "c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Doom 3\darkmod\tdmlauncher.exe" and the result is this:

In the background I can see the TDM wallpaper additionally. And thats it. Crash, bang, exit.

What can I do? I wanted to play this mod soooo badly.

My system is a Core i7 3.4 - 8 GB Ram - Win7x64 - GTX570 - HD is an SSD.

TIA :)

Michael

Guys, I sorted it out. For whatever reasons, I had to run the updater like 5 times, now it is really complete. And it runs. From what I've seen, TDM is the best I've ever seen of a users community. Incredibly well done. E.g. the Missions downloader. Many thanks! Now I need to sort out which is a great mission for a start.

Great. If it helps, the community made a top list long ago. It is outdated already, but might help to pick.

I would avoid the 'tears of saint lucia' for the time being, I understood it is receiving an update in the near future.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
