console overload

ungoliant

Recommended Posts

Since 1.08, on startup, the console is absolutely riddled with warning messages about shaders having already been loaded and being overwritten and yadda yadda, to the point where the buffer that holds the console history is overrun before even loading an FM. I wish to see this relevant information that was lost, and get rid of all the warning messages.

I couldn't find any related cvar on iddevnet, so I must ask: How can I disable or prevent all the WARNING messages in the console?

I'm not sure you can, w/o rebuilding TDM with the warnings commented out.

I believe this was done as part of the preparations for going standalone, and unfortunately, was not wrapped in something you could use to turn it off.

You can delete the revelant files from the D3 PAK files. Then D3 won't find them and won't complain. Might be abit hard to track down which it are and if they contain anything else that is needed, but probably 1 or 2 material files are thrwing 90% of the warnings.

And yeah, it will be gone once we go stand-alone.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
