  1. I've had that problem too-- with all releases so far inc. 0.9.7 on Hardy.
  2. I'm getting a strange bug where all of a sudden, my layers disappear. The brushes and objects, etc, are still present in the map but in the Layers window only Default is there. After the layers vanish, if I try to create another brush, all of my brushes/objects that used to be attached to other layers suddenly disappear themselves and I'm left only with the Default layer and its assigned stuff. Unchecking and checking off the Default layer will also cause everything else to disappear. Not yet sure under what circumstances the layers are disappearing in the first place, but it's happened three times already with 0.9.7........ I got around it by selecting everything and adding it back to the Default layer, after the layers disappeared but before all my work disappeared... then I'm fine until it happens again.
  3. Hey, so the upgrade finished and guess what... DR works, so that must be it. Maybe there should be a note on the darkradiant download site that points out the .DEB was compiled for Ubuntu 8.04 or something to that effect?
  4. I'm using Ubuntu 7.10, 32-bit. That's strange though, that it would think the libboost package is broken just because it's not Hardy?
  5. Hey, Just downloaded the .deb for the darkradiant 0.9.7, and when I try to install the package it gives me the error that libboost-filesystem1.34.1 is not satisfied. But I have libboost-filesystem1.34.1 installed... I just reinstalled it and still won't install. Something up with the package?
  6. Haha. Yeah... it turns out that everything I need my computer to do is easier to set up / run from Ubuntu than Fedora. I had Doom 3 + Darkmod and DarkRadiant running in half an hour with Ubuntu... in Fedora... Doom 3 and Darkmod eventually worked but DarkRadiant was impossible... Oh well. I haven't touched a Linux machine in 5 years so this one's good for me it seems.
  7. OK so I wasn't pleased with Fedora (which I just installed the other week) so I switched over to Ubuntu 7.10. I d/l'd all the libraries and such and compiled 0.9.5. Everything appears to be working-- but I'm getting a very weird bug. It seems random, but sometimes when I press certain keys (ctrl, alt, etc) to do things in DR, the DR window inexplicably grows wider. I'm running it windowed with detached views and they aren't touched, but the main DR window keeps growing. If I don't resize it it quickly grows into the next desktop and it doesn't stop there as I keep mapping. Weird?
  8. Will there be a linux build put up for this release? For some reason I can't find any of the older .deb packages on the darkradiant site. The one link I can find is broken. Compiling it myself seems like too much... there are several libs and dependencies needed to build it, which aren't named exactly what they are because I'm getting them for Fedora, and I'm getting stuck on some that have their own dependencies which have their own dependencies and now I seem to have found myself in dependency hell.
  9. Hmm, well the project doesn't sound very familiar... but it was in Perl and it had to do with multi-brushes. The guy's name started with "Dat"-something. I haven't really posted on TTLG in quite a while... OK so I have PM'd sparhawk for svn access for the mod so I can get started... can't wait.
  10. Hmmm... very possibly? My login on the TTLG forums was cypher628. Sound familiar?
  11. Thanks all. Yes those memories are painful...it teaches you the real meaning of saving your work every two minutes. I was actually working with a guy at one point a few years ago (doing testing for him) who was writing a PERL program for dromed, that had to do with multibrushes or something like brush templates. I never did see where he went with that but it was real interesting. Those maps above were works-in-progress... what happened was I started college and simply no longer had the time. But now I do, and I'd love to get started on something.
  12. Hey... I'd like to try out some beta-mapping for TDM. I know I'm a new face here... I used to be a member on the TTLG forums (still am, cypher628) and used to work with Dromed on both T1 and T2. I just downloaded the T3ED and am almost done running through Komag's tutorial. It's pretty different from dromed I'm still used to making everything out of brushes... I never got around to publishing much online but I could probably come up with some old screenies. My e-mail is ckahn@videotron.ca or cnetrix@gmail.com. :-D
