  1. Nice work VD.
  2. I think we might be making a mistake in actually showing the arrow and the bow on screen in the players hands. It creates more business than is necessary in my opinion. I see the logic behind it and respect the principle, but I don't think it's the best way to do it. If there are players willing to do away with the onscreen icons and memorize their key bindings then they probably would appreciate not seeing the tip of the arrow poking up on the screen. The arrow tip would be more distracting since it's moving around. It also doesn't strike me as a good idea in the sense that the character is running around holding the arrow like that. It's not going to be as easy to knock the arrow. The player would have to position the tip into his fingers before firing. Normally, the player reaches back and pulls an arrow out of the quiver from the appropriate orientation in one smooth movement. I think this is one of those situations where we don't need to provide the visual. If a player is hardcore enough to turn off the weapon/ item icons...they likely don't want or need the visual representation. It would defeat what they're trying to achieve and needlessly clutter the screen for those who do want the icons. Keep it simple.
  3. Hi Macsen, this is our private applicants forum. Only you and the team are able to see this. We like to keep the application discussions out of the public eye. Oh, to any other applicants. Please do not post in any applicant threads but your own. This is for the team and the named applicant.
  4. Hey there Macsen, drop me a line at darkmod_apply@hotmail.com. I'll give you the particulars.
  5. Good idea Spar, that should make things easier.
  6. That's how much we got in the storm yesterday. Third storm in the last week and a half. I think we have had a total of 70 or 80 cm's fall in that period. Thankfully some of it melted before this storm hit. Apparently we're getting another one this week too. LOL This is the worst we've had in years.
  7. Looks great!!
  8. This is our driveway today after the snowplow cleared our street. I don't have a snow blower...so it's good old shoveling snow for me!
  9. I hope you're not serious Vad. It's a total conversion of the Doom 3 engine into a stealth based platform. Everything has to be designed from the ground up. AI, Sound propagation, Textures, Models, Voice Sets...etc, etc. This can not be pulled together in a few months.
  10. No guest bashing going on here. Sorry if you were given that impression. As we said, there will be vertical wall movement. It just won't be with gloves. You have to understand that with the inclusion of rope arrows, vertical movement must be balanced a little differently. Nothing more complicated than that really. Some feel more strongly about it than others but in the end it has to come down to a design decision and nothing more. If we refused to include any form of vertical wall movement...now THAT would be unreasonable. That's really all that can be said about it without repeating what has already been said.
  11. Never one to mince words! oDDity has yet again proven why we keep him chained in the basement, working long hard hours on those mouth watering models, without food or water. How the hell did he get out here? Shoo shoo. BACK I SAY!!! At any rate, yes...there are people on the team who loathe climbing gloves, there are people in the community who loathe them. It makes absolutely no difference what our motivations were. The point is that the FUNCTION will exist. For some there is a stigma attached to climbing gloves, might as well start fresh and give it a fair chance.
  12. Not really, we just wanted to achieve this in a different way. We can be a tough bunch sometimes.
  13. Could be done. I still like to have the icons on the screen showing how many I have left of each item, but I'm open to the idea. Will giving the hands more onscreen time be less distracting that small icons though? I realize the general idea would be to remain unarmed at all costs and I can see why you would want to have this considering it would be for people who want to play without the hud icons.
  14. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the depth BT. It looks fantastic.
  15. Thanks Hylix, A little too early for us to answer that particular question in earnest, but we can tell you that we're discussing such things and to check back with us on that issue in a few months. It would take a lot of work to balance this against established gameplay.
  16. Right after those photos were taken, I sharpened them up and took off half of my face. It appears that hair will never grow there again!!! Bonus!
  17. I'm happy with Springers concept art as well. Some of the above pics may come in handy for some details but, as you said, you're still going with the same basic concept.
  18. The configurability is more for placement rather than different models.
  19. I would say a year to a year and a half for completion. Website update? Hmmm, not sure. Once we have something substantial to show.
  20. Can't give out anything too concrete this early in developement but..... Similar to Thief 1 and 2...but....haven't fully settled this yet. There are many sounds but nothing that we can post just yet. Our primary inspiration is Thief 1 and 2, but there is much room for our own flavor. The HUD will be non intrusive however. That's all I can say about that for now. Well, I think I'm off for the night.
  21. Yes, it has turned me into that which "NIGHTMARES" are made of.
  22. We're going to burn in hell aren't we?
  23. Not sure how thick they are, I know that they are a standard stainless steel chefs blade cut to the custom shape. Here are some more pics for glove detail. Going a bit crazy with the pics....but I LOVE this glove. Sorry Tyrot. I know how shocking this must be for everyone, but everyone has their breaking point.
  24. Nah, I was just a fan of the old "Nightmare on Elmstreet" movies when I was a kid and I always wanted to have the glove. I tride to make one...rather unsuccessfully, when I was around 10. I decided to order it from a gentleman in Vancouver BC here in Canada. He's been perfecting his craft for around 15 years and three years ago decided to start selling screen accurate collector gloves. The glove was different in each movie, but I always loved the one from the first film and that's the one you see in my photos. The guy who makes them had a rather rough year personally and I actually waited 13 months to receive this glove. In the end, it was well worth it.
