I agree with Biker. If you love someone, you don't need a certain day of the year to show it.

The last time I had a GF on Valentines day I took her away for a surprise wknd at a posh hotel in the country. At dinner we were surrounded by dead eyed couples who were just doing this because it was expected. After dinner we were herded up to our bedrooms like cattle and expected to make love just because we were supposed to. It was the most soul destroying shag of my life. Valentine's day can go to Hell.

It ain't love if it's only got a handful of dedicated days a year for it, and obliging people, and typically requiring money expenditure to prove the "love".
