  1. Yeah, I get what you mean. I remember how utterly disappointed I was with certain elements in TDS - they certainly broke the harmony of the game as a whole for me and I only ever played it the one time. I had inferred from the wealth of evidence presented in trailers and subsequent promotion that TDS was going to be as enjoyable to play as the first two games. Sadly, this was not the case. My disappointment in TDS is probably the key reason why I'm looking forward to Thief. I mean, how remarkably unfortunate it would be to be left with the same feeling I had with TDS. This might be the case; but, from what I've seen/heard so far, I believe Thief will turn out to be a much more enjoyable game to play... but, like others, I can only speak for myself. Nothing wrong with being curious. No real meaning, its just a fun play on words. If you look back you'll see that 161803398874989 said there is no reason to feel glum, fans can fix things. So I joked about how being glum is probably due to The Gloom. If this plague idea had been used in the original game, perhaps the Pagans would have called the sick townsfolk 'Gloomsies'... as per their usual dialect style. @ Springheel: Hopefully, having a sense of humour is fine here?
  2. Haha. The way you take a little joke about The Gloom and twist it into something you take really personally makes you my "Number One Gloomsie", for sure. __ Anyway, back on topic.... Thief, the game. I believe we're expecting some goodness today.
  3. You need to eat fresh fish only... so you can recognise it.
  4. Fortunately, I am already vegetarian (pescatarian to be exact), so there is nothing I have to worry about.
  5. Haha! Those eyes are hilarious.
  6. Creepy crawlies! And to the next dimension! One day we will view creatures that are even smaller than them!
  7. My bad. I understand now. Though even if I was a Purist, I would still like "some" of what I have seen and heard... even if I had to add a dash of caution. Anyway, time will tell.
  8. Very BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for the link too. Here is my contribution. I subscribe to the National Geographic magazine and some of their electron microscope images are amazing. This one is my favourite of 2013. Weird, huh?
  9. @ Vae. Do you habitually catch yourself taking things too seriously or misunderstanding? Try to read my words as I write them, so that you understand. Unless you deliberately intend to misread what I say; which would be odd. But I never said "most"; you did. I used the word 'these'; which obviously only refers to those people who would consider themselves to be glum about everything. As far as I can tell, there are not many of them. Whether you are genuinely upset by the game's content or think that joking is a form of personal attack, learning to understand why you might be overreacting and overlooking the genuine humor and/or good things about the game is a useful beginning to loosening up a little. Anyway, not everyone shares your PoV about the game, same as others don't share mine. We're totally equal. EDIT I really like the way the game "looks", tbh. Not sure how it will "feel", of course. That's whats important to me.
  10. People who are glum are unfortunately sick from The Gloom. For me, these people are now affectionately known as 'Gloomsies'.
  11. I would like to offer my thanks too. It takes talent, passion, dedication and time to produce any creative work.... good job. So many people involved - programmers, translators, voice actors, betatesters... the list must be huge. So my gratitude goes to to each and every one of you and long may the art live.
  12. Scrambled is the tastiest. __ Whilst I can understand some grievances and fears, I think the term dumbing down is too generalised and a misconception to believe a broader audience equates to a stupider one. With the rise of the casual gamer, I don't disagree there is some merit in the argument and the industry should be mindful of this when developing their games. Not all have, as we know from experience; but you can only fairly judge each product independently. Whether or not EM have struck a good balance remains to be seen. Catering for all player-types is about diversity which brings the opportunity to introduce new players to the fold. Better to have some than none at all and, in real terms, the 'some' can amount to thousands of new fans... and fan mission makers too, of course. Sure, not all newcomers will become as good as "us" current veterans... but some will; and that can only be a good thing in my book. Some might begin on easy mode with Focus turned on... but, if the interest is there (and you have to have that; no matter what), they will go on to play and enjoy the old-school mode. So, I can only feel positive about the prospect of a new generation of Thief fans at this point in time.
  13. Your post is full of logic and sense and I couldn't agree with you more.
  14. Haha, I think they're fun. As far as I recall, the devs confirmed we can go inside/outside of areas, through doors/windows and go about our business as we choose. Upon return to these areas, things will be as we left them. I'll see if I can find the link for everyone.
  15. That's the one. Yes, it is named darkmod. Other missions have fired up without problems... if that helps.
  16. Hehe, I agree, TDM is a lot of fun.
  17. Life is bliss, but only lasts a little while. Live it is my motto.
  18. Yeah, we can only ever speak for ourselves. What is to come is already written... amd I wish the best for everyone. x
  19. I do know how it goes, yes, and I understand... I just don't feel worried about it myself.
  20. I didn't note it down.... but I think it began with the letter m. "mannon error"? Or something like that, sorry.
  21. Too much fretting and nail-biting going on. Shake off those imaginary chains....set yourself free....loosen up... open your mind. In the end, you'll wonder what on earth you were worried about. Life is too short to be angry. Don't worry.... be happy... and start smiling... or "cheshire cat grinning", as I prefer.
  22. Nope. I am only interested in the Collectors' Edition.
  23. Oooh, well I am rather partial to a good City mission. I think I'll go with Return to the City. Thank you for this suggestion, Bikderdude and Krypt. x __ EDIT. Hmm, not sure if it was v2 on the download list or not?....but when I tried to install I received an error message. I shall try again tomorrow.
  24. Someone here desperately needs a cuddle. I really can't wait. BTW.... I think the choke arrows appear only in the digital download Master Thief edition.... as part of the Booster Pack.
