  1. The absence of rope arrows forces you to consider alternatives, which I think was the point here. I also felt that there was supposed to be rope arrows but that I missed picking them up. It forced me to explore other means to forge ahead, which I found. Again, that was deliberate. Same with the "fastened" doors. It hinted to me that there was something on the other side, but I had to find a different way to get there. It all comes together when you finish the mission. Getting from the end of the mission to the beginning is far easier than getting to the end from the beginning. This is important for those who have to return to collect unfound loot. There IS one wall pipe that is climbable. I don't think there is any ivy however. Some of the jumps WERE a bit tedious. That's always a turn off. And it was indeed dark. Particularly when you're trying to spot a ledge to creep along. Maybe this is a Ver 2.13 issue with the lighting. I don't know. But I managed to complete the mission and totally enjoyed it. Still can't find all the loot though. When you have verticality like this, there's bound to be an isolated window to burgle or some bird nest teetering remotely.
  2. Great mission Frost I understand the complaint that there were too many doors that were locked from the outside, but I have to say that only bothered me until I realized they were hints that you can find a different way to get get to the other side of the door. Having the distinct lock sound was very helpful as well. Once the mission is finished, with all doors unlocked, it's quite easy to go back and forth. Which is what I have to do because my loot total is very poor.
  3. I suspected as much regards the rope arrow. Seems every time I thought a rope arrow was required. I found another way. I don't know how I missed the map. Having a lot of fun playing this mission
  4. I'm curious about a few things. I was never given rope arrows at the beginning, and there are obvious placements of wooden beams specifically for rope arrows. Did I miss a pickup somewhere along the way? I'm currently at Armoury St. Also, I noticed references to the map. I don't have a map either.
  5. Thanks for your input. Those "impulse" lines have no meaning to me, but I figured they represented settings values. I wasn't about to labour through them one at a time to see what was what. Constructing an autoexec.cfg file is a non starter for me. That's way out of my elemental abilities of understanding programming. At this point, it is far better to just memorize where I drifted from many default values. That I can handle And so far, so good. I'm playing "A Reciprocal Gambit" with ver 2.13 and will keep my digital (picture) representation of ALL the settings in a Separate Folder as reference for next version upgrade.
  6. I just ended up knitting a mosaic of the settings from 2.12, making it my wallpaper, initiating ver 2.13, then flipping back and forth, copying where I deviated from the defaults. Accomplishes what I want without having to write everything down or trying to memorize the differences. I did notice there were some differences (new variables) in ver 2.13, so copy/paste was not an option anyway. Now I can play A Reciprocal Gambit, knowing that it's going to be awesome.
  7. Thanks for your response...in fact it's your latest mission that I want to play, but I need to upgrade to ver 2.13 in order to play it. Maybe it's the "impulse xx" that confuses me. It has no meaning to me. I want to customize the settings found in Dark Mod's pulldown menu's... Main Menu / Settings / Controls / etc.... I know I can do this manually, but I thought there would be a quicker way. So I'm trying to find where the default settings are stored and just copy/paste to the newer version. I don't see anything in DarkmodKeybinds.cfg that points directly to default settings (there is a lot of "binding" which I also do, but that's not what I'm talking about) Another example....once ver 2.13 is installed, the default for "speed" is "walk". I want it to be "run". Is there a file somewhere that lists all these defaults so that I can copy/paste from ver 2.12 or do I have to go through each default one at a time and change it
  8. I want to copy my customization settings from ver 2.12 to ver 2.13. What file holds these setting values? I know there is a DarkmodKeybinds.cfg but it doesn't seem to be where the setting values are stored. For example, I want my "next/previous Inv item to be wheeldown & wheelup, not the default [ and ]. The .ini files don't seem to have what I'm looking for either. I know I can manually adjust these things, but it's a whole lot simpler to find where these values are stored and copy them to the newer version.
  9. Hmmmm...up until now, there have only been 3, and I have registered them all. That's why I have 3 out of 4. The 4th one must be a new addition. I'm still looking. Your mission is excellent. I never tire of playing it, and I play it differently every time. Thanks again for the experience.
  10. 4th Secret ? I downloaded the latest version of this mission to play with the latest version of Dark Mod (2.12) and, when completed, there was a tally of secrets that were incomplete. 3of 4 secrets. There was never indication of finding secrets other than of which there were 3. So is there Always a pleasure playing this mission.
  11. Thanks Tapewolf. Your descriptions were great. I had no problems. But I can't see the relevance of the snails to the mission. You would think after you stumble upon the first, a new objective would pop up instead of the Bonus Objective AFTER you've got 4.
  12. What's with the snails. Am I confusing them with slugs, who slime along the ground. I think people eat them so I'm looking all over the kitchen. Haven't found one yet. Not sure what I'm looking for. Can they crawl up walls? My bet is that they are with the spiders, and I'm not going in there.
  13. I never heard of that until now. So I went back and shot water arrows at the vine arrow that was attached. The Vine base grew UPWARD but it didn't create a single vine that grows down so that you could climb it. So it works in general but not the way you may want it to work. Then again, this could be peculiar to this situation. I look forward to trying it on another mission. Also, I think the vine arrow doesn't necessarily produce a "rope" leading down that you could climb. But it DOES create a climbable "mulch?" attached to the wall that is climbable. Obviously I am not knowledgeable in the use of the vine arrow. I rarely used it.
  14. To Bergannte To Chakkman & Bergannte
  15. Thank you.....it worked. I didn't see the "insert in line"
  16. 3840x2160 (4.32Meg) I tried reducing it to accommodate the fit but then the pic looked awful. I never thought to go back and re-take the picture under lower resolution instead of reducing the high resolution pic already taken. I should try that. Ok, I managed to re-size to make the picture fit, but now I don't know how to insert it into the Spoiler. Each attempt places it outside and beneath the Spoiler Block. Maybe I'm reading the "Preview" wrong. I don't want to post this message if the pic can't be cloaked
  17. Is there a way to insert a picture and place it within the spoiler. There is a 500kB limitation which I can't meet without making the pic too poor to understand. The pic above may not be cloaked in the spoiler, but it still manages to make it onto the body of the message while being constrained by the same 500kB limitation.
  18. Mission 2 I see a pear beside a pumpkin, but it doesn't frob. So it is either not the pear I need, or there is a problem. As things stand, I'm wandering around looking for something to do. And yes, I haven't tried one nasty thing for a whole week and counting....looking for the badge.
  19. I'm on mission #2.....Should I download ver 2 and will it eliminate my progress in the campaign ?
  20. This campaign is large enough such that each mission deserves it's own thread.
  21. Ohhhh...that was nasty good
