    What OS for a 1999 laptop, Win98 or Linux?

      Some really light linux? I've only tested puppy linux for some really old computer. Seemed to work.

      I'd vote for Arch Linux if you're a techie... Not that hard to setup, and you can use whatever DE/applications fit your needs and hardware limitations.

      Might want to try "antiX", possibly xubuntu (384MB+). antiX can run on a machine with 64M RAM and 128M swap file, but 128M RAM is recommended minimum.
