Ok I have successfully uninstalled and installed the mission, maybe it was one time thing. Besides, I will gladly replay it!

Yeah but we talk about Darkmod in particular and about thief occasionally, I would like to go more general.

Also, I'm a little affraid my laptop will have problems handling the mod. It's not really a gaming machine. Hope these are not too heavy visually...

Well hollywood is already after the golden time so maybe it's good for them to pass away since they won't experience anything better. One polish actor said after seeing one of the new hit movies: "Time to die..."

It was made before developers started investing money into graphics and so it's full of content and it all works together very well.

It's very wacky but rarely you see so much work put into details in games. It's a platformer but I'd say that style and story actually got me into it. It's nowhere of the greedy mood of thief, that's for sure so you gotta be open for completely different experience.

But it is maybe not so much about the graphics as about making the world believable and there are many ways of making that happen: graphics, animations, AI, gamplay, etc. and this reality is broken for me at the moment, I find it hard to believe in the world in the missions. Maybe I should start a topic to explain that more..

I am keeping it all in mind and I still think TDM is one of a kind. I am probably alone on this one in the community but this might be an issue for newcomers. What I am personally afraid of is that it is coming to a full circle and soon I will have problems playing just like I had problems with Thief 1 & 2. I just have some standards which steadily grow so it seems.

there are many things that TDM is still lacking and I hope to see improvements there as well as in other areas and I know there are priorities. I'm just saying all of that because I was struck by that after playing a fair bit lately.

Also I got used to the lively environments where people are actually doing something and not just trying to kill you and that is very rare for TDM, the civilians don't do anything besides sleeping and walking...

My problem is framedrop vs looks vs detail vs animations vs interactivity. The "jumping" framerate in the game is a huge problem for me, always was, and now that all of the games have quite good animations TDM is lacking in quality for me e.g. facial expressions!

this sudden urge of mine might be coming from the fact, that the engine of TDM seems more and more dated and actally it is. Don't get me wrong. I will not get anywhere else the same experience of medieval mystery fantasy thief, that would beat TDM but it gets harder and harder for me to actually get into the feeling of the world.

Nah, actually with the new version I get crashes when I play too long, which is good!

I should probably add that I have windows 8 and I play on laptop.
