  1. Ah I see what you mean. Yes, a large number of basic relationships need to be all set
  2. I agree with Orb that Stim/Response is a more advanced feature that many authors won't use to make maps. Plenty of T1/2 FMs have been made (most of them in fact) without the author knowing a thing about stim stuff. I think they're important, just not equally important as objectives
  3. I'm trying out editing "Dromed Style" with the 3D window top left, XY top right, ZY and ZX in bottom left and bottom right. But I like to resize it so the XY is largest, 3D is medium, ZY is smallest, and ZX is small but wide as XY. Anyway, whenever I start DarkRadiant again all the windows are always reset to same-size rectangles. I tried the other views and resized stuff and closed DarkRadiant, and it seems to save their positions when I start again. So I think it's just the Dromed style that has the problem.
  4. Here's what I see in the DOS box: Perhaps all that is just blah blah nothings wrong. Do you (the reader of this post) see the same thing? Things seem to work fine, but I haven't delved very deep and perhaps I'm just not noticing the problems if there are any. Also, I'm not saying this is new to 0.8.1 or 0.004 (though maybe it is) - I haven't fired up DarkRadiant/DarkMod for a long time so maybe it did the same thing before, I don't remember.
  5. I've put this up at Shadowdark (not publically of course) as well, for clean direct downloading http://www.shadowdarkkeep.com/files/darkradiant-0.8.1.zip

  7. Woops, I guess I missed the save discussions before, sorry to beat a dead horse
  8. I am absolutely very hard core AGAINST save restrictions of any kind. I am mature enough to not save much and live with my gameplay consequences - it adds to my immersion - but I always quick save regularly and especially before certain types of jumps and maneuvers, so that when the retarded game cheats and kills me in some reason-forsaken meta-gaming way, I can just reload. If I couldn't save, I would be severely restricted on what moves I attempt, playing it way too safe just to avoid the game killing me. Game designers that restrict saves should all have their nuts slapped.
  9. Yeah but having the Deathstar come back was the most retardest thing EVAR
  10. Don't forget Matrix! 2 and 3 are some of the dumbest movies of all time
  11. I would suggest looking at the library under "Medieval Architecture" or "Gothic Architecture", browse the books and some will be more "blue-printy" than others.

Although those are all jokes the mod WILL have the player going around to assasinate all the medieval Christians because Christians are ebil!
  13. Wow, that looks pretty awesome! One of the videos was particularly cool (the 0.0.2 one)
  14. Some of the storyline was intriguing at times (I liked the conversation with the AI towards the end, which basically named the game), but I felt like all the super-uber-secret stuff was sort of like believing the moon landings were faked and that a second shooter in the grassy knoll shot JFK. And for a game that's supposed be all open ended with letting you choose your moral position, I felt pretty ramrodded overall onto the path of the storyline. The game was not neutral, and I personally don't agree with its values position (example - the "best" ending is to destroy Area 51 and live free in villages in a new dark age - freaking rediculous to me). So, for me, the story is just a big fat "whatever". But the game is still one of the better games I've ever played, with great features, interface, gameplay, and just plain fun factor. It was also pretty highly polished, stuff in the world reacted well to what I did, AI seemed good to interact with, the weapons were interesting, the bio-mod system worked well, world was built to allow variety of playstyle approaches, etc. I can appreciate the finely crafted game they made, and I can better understand the terrible disappointment everyone felt at DXIW.
  15. But it doesn't have to be all that expensive either, since a lot of the books take place in small rooms or halls or whatever, conversations and small dramas between characters. The larger scenes such as the jousting festival and the armies, will be the exceptions I think. I'm almost done with book 1 at this point. My local Waldenbooks is closing and having a 40% off everything in the store, so I plunked down $30 (instead of $50) for the "A Game of Thrones RPG Game" book, a huge volume with gorgeous art and a lot of in depth info on the world. I'll probably never play the RPG, but many reviewers have said it's worth it just if you are a fan of the book/series.
  16. I just finished the game (Deus Ex) today. I tried all three endings to see what they were like. I was disappointed that there is no big last boss battle, I wanted to really fight someone tough! Oh well, the game was quite enjoyable to play through anyway. But the big conspiracy-upon-conspiracy storyline was just too dumb to me to care about, so I would find myself skipping all the readings, not caring about the plot, etc. I really just loved the sneaking around, taking headshots, outsmarting bots and turrets, and my favourite of all, flying my little orb thing and zapping stuff with it! It was also nice to play on high-res with AA and AF cranked up for nice crisp smoothness. I'll have to try that mod Zodiac out now. Any other good ones?
  17. Nah, it's definitely a chick. Link is usually a younger boy hero, so, just like Peter Pan, when portrayed by adults they have a girl fill the role. (Although as a kid I always was freaked out by girl Peter Pans)
  18. I never liked Goldeneye for some reason, dunno why exactly. But the mod looks fun
  19. I like Thief and other games, I have fun playing them with the current paradigm, so I don't need a new one.
  20. I've read (I think) that there is a small risk that you could damage the card if you try, even if you change it back afterwards. That may not be true, but I would research it much more before trying, and if there is no real need then why chance anything.
  21. Far Cry is actually pretty efficient and can run on somewhat low systems. Now you can use the video card advanced settings to crank up the AA to 4x or 8x and the AF to 8x or 16x and still run T2 in 1600x1200!
  22. I had NO IDEA that Robert Jordan's real name is not Robert Jordan. Why do people use pen names???
  23. By the way, I second audio books. They are usually well read and entertaining. I used to think that a reader imitating other voices would be just retarded, but it's actually usually good and immersive. I remember listening to some Star Trek book around 10 years ago, read by Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker), and when he read Picard's parts it was eerie how close he got the voice! I loved it!
  24. Since I work security I pretty much have infinite reading time if I want it. While at work I play computer games, read, email and internet, and... that's about it! Crazy! However, I have a weird quirk - I pretty much can only read if I'm eating food or (preferably) eating/spitting sunflower seeds. But I get tired of them after an hour or two at most, so I can never read for longer than that.
