  1. Hi. Saving anywhere you want is an excellent idea. In Thief 2, which I absolutly love by the way, I really did NOT feel like having to do the same thing over and over and over. Plus saving can add to the fun of a Thief Like game. How so right? Just imagine all the funny little things you might like to do to take out that guard or how many ways you think you can sneak past. If you don't have any ability to save you would have to do the 80% (about two hours worth) of the mission before you even got to the spot you wanted to try new things out at. Our memory saves every blessed second of life, now whether or not we can remember is a different story. But, imagine in we only saved our thoughs every 2 hours. What did you do two seconds ago, Oh I'll thell you in 2 hours. PS:I think your doing a great job with this mod don't ever change.
  2. Oh another one..... How many times must I see a negative idea attacker hit up a forum.... So I incorrectly spelled a word, kill me.
  3. I agree with you SneaksyDave. Production has been done professionally by most of the TDM guys before. You can have your cake and eat it too. It will be done - WHEN it is DONE. And yes they already commented on the builders when I asked earlier so search the forums under "Builders" to get your results and don't be so lazy.
  4. Ahh the old copyright infringement....... Well at least now in creating a DIFFERENET, but still Thief Like, Atmospheric Game you can always fix the things you didn't like before in The Thief Series, whatever they may be.
  5. Thief 2 Was NOT entirely set in a Victorian world. It's called steampunk. And there was art deco which may have come later or earlier. Either way IT IS A MADE UP WORLD. True to our world isn't exactly the same as true to T1 or T2's world which is a clash of cultures and eras.
  6. Profanity and cuss words are highly unlickly in a map. A. No one wants to hear cuss words- it is boring. When fun invented words, like a certain T2 (T) word, were added they were loved becuase they let the imagination of the player take over and create a meaning. And unless you offend yourself you'll be happy. B. It's unprofessional- No games I know of do it and no games I play do it. Minus a FEW exceptions. C. Cuss words just aren't thief-like. If you play T1 and T2 you get a feal for a Thiefy Realm- It simply DOES NOT USE PROFANITY in any 20th century or other way. Now "Damn"was ok for the culty reason for "Builderz." They surely would Damn those they didn't consider in the light of thier order. And "Shit" mearly expains Poop. D. Reason A should be enough! -Thank you
  7. With reguards to swear words, can we please leave the French out of this. Most curse words are french- go figure.
  8. It would however be interesting to lock an AI Gaurd/personage in a room only to come back later and find curiously he is not there because he opened a secret passage and got away! (run on sentence) Or if the room had a balcony he could use a rope arrow to let himself down to grond level, or a SlowFall Potion. Yes I know code takes forever, but this could make things interesting. Just ideas
  9. You could use a little trick to put the AI back on his way. When the player is not around simply teleport the AI to its nearest AIPath (One the player can't see at the moment of couse). Oh and I hope you put in the same object system and linking as Dromed if possible (Legal stuff again).
  10. Outstanding!!! I really like the special effects of the water, the realistic models, and ESPECIALLY that ROPE ARROW. It is the coolest one I've seen yet! I can't wait to get to building my own maps for your mod. Hopefuly you'll do something with the light up effect (when objects are able to be frobbed) it looks a little bright and wishwashy (only my opinion... ). Other than that I can hardly wait. Side-Question: Will your Editor have the old object system of Dromed? (I hope so ).
  11. XP Does run Thief 2 Very well I might add. Make the setup.exe on the cd under properties run under windows98/ME option. Then when you play the game imediately after starting it up switch to ALT CTRL DEL and set the thief2.exe affinity to CPU 0 or 1 and it will run nicely. I used to have a problem where the game would run slow then really fast but now it runs at a contant speed that is normal. As for Vista- I couldn't get it to run on Beta 2. (Vista is missing proper drivers especially for Sound Blaster anyway.) A 64-bit Thief game might be an interesting idea though.
  12. I looked at the wiki that I linked to from your main page and didn't see them. The "Keepers" in Thief2 were the ones in charge of training Garrett and that he was affiliated with them. At the end of Thief2 the Keeper friend of Garrett said there was more for him to do. Will the Keepers who watch all and preserve the balance be in TDM? Just wondering.... (Oh and I hope it is ok that my first post in a new topic ) Other Things not in the WIKI..... ------------------------------------------- Burricks (Talked of fondly in Thief2)
