Just started and the mission looks great, but are there recommended settings for this? Just went through part if the watch station, strolling around on the tower and it's become choppy af, I'm talking literal flipbook quality. My laptop isn't a gaming beast by any means (4970HS, 32GB, 4070 mobile), but that just doesn't feel right.

Fan Mission: "The Last Night on Crookshank Lane"

Look at the -
I'm replaying old maps on 2.13 at the moment and found that some, I dare say, very very integral parts of TDM gameplay no longer works. Before, you could crouch and lean forward at the same time, find just the right angle with a bit of luck and slowly close the distance to a candle on a table just enough to put it out - without getting spotted. I know, it kinda is a stretch to believe a real human person could do that, but come on, game mechanics! This was pure genius, and f'ing fun! However, it seems to no longer work. Which sucks. Is this a result of whatever AI-something-lighting-something described in another thread (all just techno babble to me)? I'm probably the only one, but I don't like it.

Fan Mission: Mandrasola by Sotha (2011/04/10)

Maybe no point in asking after this long time. On highest difficulty, the mandrasola objective doesn't get checked after I have all 15 - is there more to that? -
Thx but that's not quite what I meant. I dropped down at least a dozen times without waking him up, but always got at least 1 suspicion ... which is 1 too many. So I just went back and got some more moss arrows (still took a few tries to get a patch on the chairback without hitting it directly (as that would also make enough sound to give you 1 suspicion)).

Is there a way to get into the monitor room without suspicion? I don't think there is any other way in than through the vent above it. I don't have a moss arrow (not sure I ever had or found any) and dropping a document on the desk below (supposed landing area) doesn't help as I would always land on the backrest of the chair right next to said desk.

Yes. However, I just checked the map's version number in the game and while I'm pretty certain I installed an update in-game at some point, it's still only 1.3 (which is probably before the fix) Is 1.4 available in-game? If so, can I force an update even though none is shown? Sry for asking non mission-specific stuff which is probably already explained elsewhere. Manually removed the mission from the fms folder and in-game missions downloader still only shows Verison 3. Is it supposed to be like that?

Fan Mission: The Last Offering (2024-11-16)
Knüppelaufdierübe replied to Sotha's topic in Fan Missions
Just finished and it was fun, but I'll still nag about a few things Maybe I'm too much of a casual player, but for a no-save run (which I would never do, so, just hypothetically speaking), I would have liked some helpers. Like, being able to snatch NPC room keys and lock them in or something (which is just me ranting about NPCs un-/locking doors without (snatchable) keys ... although I can totally see some reasoning behind that). As for the secret -
It was frustrating the first time around, but as soon as I found out about the painting, it wasn't that much of an issue anymore (trade-off I'm totally OK with). But I can also see how that's not an option for players who really want to stealth it (beyond just a zero suspicion score). To me, the bigger issue was the upper floors constantly crawling with people. If that could be decluttered or slowed down just a bit, like giving some of them a bit more resting time between their runs or something.
