How do we launch Quake 1 mods?

I have GLQuake running on a handheld gaming system. I would REALLY love to have the CTF bot plus mod working, so I can play capture the flag whenever I'm bored. This device has no keyboard though, so I can't type "-game ctfbotp" when launching the game. I know about autoexec.cfg, but IIRC that is only for a specific mod because it resides in their specific folders and not the root directory.

 

Any other way to accomplish this? I figured there would be some id tech experts around here somewhere. I'm not above using a hex editor or .PAK editors if that is required. In the worst case scenario, I could get the engine source code and modify it to load the mod directly. I'm not a coder, but it couldn't be *that* hard.

Depends on what type of access you have to the device, if you can use commandline args, it's fairly trivial. Might need to ssh in and make the changes however.
