Hittingman Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Having issues with TDM on a Windows 7 x64 machine with the Steam version of Doom 3. Doom 3 itself runs absolutely fine. TDMupdater runs and says I am up to date. TDMLauncher detects the correct version. I have turned off the Radeon AI, I have checked patch versions, I have deleted gamex86.dll and verified Doom 3 through Steam for a redownload. I cannot find any other issues. Here is the TDMLauncher.log Path to tdmlauncher is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\darkmod\tdmlauncher.exeDarkmod directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\darkmod\Darkmod directory after normalisation is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\darkmodTrying default value for engine executable: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\DOOM3.exeFound engine executable in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\DOOM3.exeEngine path after normalisation is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\doom 3\DOOM3.exeCould not find 'currentfm.txt' file in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/doom 3/darkmod/currentfm.txtCurrent FM is: Detected Steam version of D3; Steam executable found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\..\steam.exeUsing the following argument vector:#0: -applaunch#1: 9050#2: +set#3: fs_game#4: darkmodStarting process C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\..\steam.exe -applaunch 9050 +set fs_game darkmodClosing logfile. Based on that log, I created a currentfm.txt file and put "training_mission" without quotes. But still getting the following error on boot. Serpentine Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Can you search your PC for any copy of the file 'gamex86.dll', delete all of them. Both Doom and TDM will unpack their own copies of this file if needed, however if one already exists in its place (i.e in some cases TDM will use the vanilla Doom3 one), then it'll crash. Sadly there's no better reporting of the issue atm. Let us know what happens, might not be the fix, but well worth a shot. Quote
