Swapping/Importing/Exporting/Donating Art Assets

This ties a bit into the thread about going standalone:

I just stumbled again over this page: http://opengameart.org/

The do have quite a bit of content that might be usable for us. However, our art assets are under a compatible license. So wouldn't it make equal sense to "donate" all our textures etc to them?

What do you see that would be helpful for us in going standalone?

I haven't browsed the entire DB (net is slow today), and perhaps not so much ingoing standalone per se, but they do have some assets that fit our general theme:

http://opengameart.org/content/rigged-horse

http://opengameart.org/content/worn-medieval-shield

http://opengameart.org/content/retextured-gnarly-tools

http://opengameart.org/content/mortis-and-tenon-table

Plus, the other direction (we donate to them) might also bring us goodwill, connections and talented people who want to help us to replace assets. There are a lot of very talente people out there with a lot of time on their hands..

For instance, this game here donated all their assets: http://www.unknown-horizons.org/ and they DO look professional to me.

Basically, a way to network.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
