Okay, I just wanted to know, that when we make our FMs using the toolset you guys release, where do we upload them? I remember T1 and T2 had a site called the inner circle. Will Darkmod.com have a down load section, where we can upload our FMs and download other people's FMs?

Well, aside from the fact that it's a bit early to start worrying about these things in a lot of detail, we have some ideas of how it might work.

 

For instance, I expect that people who have contributed hosting ftp space to this project already would be willing to host missions, and I believe that people like KOMAG or Epithumia (who host www.keepofmetalandgold.com and www.thiefmissions.com respectively) would be willing to also host Dark Mod missions.

 

And who knows, when it's released and missions are finally made, I might be in a position to set up server, or someone else in the team could.

 

There is also a possibly of using bittorrent, as the files could potentially be large, especially for the mod itself and all it's associated content.

 

When the mod is finished, I expect that some of us will set up a CD (or DVD) mailing service, and that it might be featured on magazine coverdisks, as well as being hosted at places such as fileplanet, fileshack, etc. as our teaser video was and is.

Bittorrent is great for Dial-Uppers. As much as I'd like to see the Tele-modem go the way of the dodo, it's still (unfortunately) widely used. Bittorrent takes care of that nasty habit of Dial-Up ISP and Telephony Modems in general cutting a large download short, and corrupting the goods.

 

I'm not saying that other avenues shouldn't be tread, but I just LOVE Bittorrent. With an already robust Thief community, sharing FM's and the Toolset would be a Euphoric Cyber-Orgy....

 

Sounds like a music group...
