TDM crashes when compiling with dmap

I have been working on a map for many days now. All of a sudden however, TDM crashes when I compile it via dmap from its console. All I did was to cut a few brushes and add a few new entities. Here is the console log:

Ignore the warnings about backwards triangles. They'll be gone in the next TDM release.

 

I don't know what the spew over unknown commands in default.cfg is about... I don't have those words in my default.cfg. But I don't think that problem caused your segfault.

 

The warnings about multiple brush sides having visportal texture on them should be taken seriously, and could conceivably screw up dmap's data structures -- a likely cause of your segfault. Check your portal brushes. They should have exactly one face with visportal texture and the rest should be nodraw.

 

If nothing works, PM me the map and let me try dmapping it in my (Windows) debug build to see whether I can spot the problem.

Well that was weird: The culprit was a set of func_static models. I simply rotated and moved them in another position and the problem is gone. And no... they weren't poking through walls, nor touching any visportal surfaces.

 

My only conclusion is that I somehow struck one of those extremely rare bugs... like some model and some portal being at a precise angle that caused dmap to snap. It's gone now without any loss so I guess I'll let it die.

When rotating func_statics the origin can sometimes get moved into the void. The func_static itself may very well be within sealed geometry but if the origin is not it will cause a leak.
