Thanks for that, but I don't want to download a video tute with sample files. Just a series of commands to press to view any existing rig that might be there, if it's at all possible.

I will download tutes if I have to, but I know some people here can tell me the few buttons to press, so I'm waiting for that.

as far as I know oddity rigged everything in maya, so you won't find any bones in lightwave. The files you have are lwo, right? That mean these are just model files, it's quite complicated to rig something in lightwave, as I said before. You have to create skelegons in modeller, but then you have to import the model into lightwave-layout and convert them to bones over there.

So if you haven't got any lws(lightwave-scene) files there won't be any bones.

So the only files that could have bones in them are .mb and .fbx

And the only .mb's I've seen are the robed builders (prelate and priest) and they definetly don't have bones.

So the only rigged chars are the Watch and Elite Watch.

Rigging is actually pretty easy on a low poly model. It's the easiest part compared to modelling itself.

Rigging in maya is much easier than lightwave.

I will gvie you all my maya scene files, you can delete the meshes and re-use the rigs. They're already correct for importing into motionbilder.

THe lightwave md5 exporter is shit. It doesn suport multiple surfaces, which makes it useless.

IF you want a tut for rigging in maya, I cna make a video for that as well.

Civillisation will not attain perfection until the last stone, from the last church, falls on the last priest.

Your last video tute I used was as succinct a thing as there could ever be. And directly customised to what we need to know for the mod. So given that BT doesn't know much more than I do, of course I'm going to say yes to your offer of a video tute.

I do know how to completely rig a character in 3DS, so I understand vertex weighting, and the importance of getting good bends, if that saves time with what you're going to cover in the tute. I just don't know maya's interface, and maybe there are some cool time saving features or something.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
